BIO

Moonist is the cologne based Singer Songwriter and kitchen producer Lisa Ruhland. Starting out in 2009 as bird on a wire with a more psychedelic Rock influenced sound she self released her debut „stiction point“ in 2015 where she teamed up with the cologne based sound engineer Sascha BEcks (Yokmo) and the electronic music producer Max Schweder (strange attractor). First time experimenting with computer generated music the album is a mix between electronic driftwood, sampled sirens, pop punk and a broad spectrum in her vocal expression. 

In June 2018 Moonist released the 2 track EP "friday is fragile" which is a collaboration with the cologne based producer Frieder Vogel and dives into the electronic currents of the song.

In 2020 Moonist got together with a band and recorded the 5 track EP „moonist was a racing horse“ in Cologne Studio A with the producer and drummer Niklas Schneider (Keshavara). While she provides the lyrics and the song the sound is band driven. It's souly, it's funky, it's folky and combines raw experi-mental pychedelic rock moments with a lean into the evergreen Pop melody.
in June 2021 Moonist released "Cologne" which she produced entirely on her own. Also Venice which is a collaboration with the cologne based producer Frieder Vogel aka FREEFREE whom she already teamed up with in 1018 to experiment on electronic music and songwriting, diving into the electronic currents of the song. She also produced a video to one of their collaborations.  
 
Now getting ready to go back on stage in 2025 to introduce what Moonist and a beautiful bunch of creative folks have been cooking up together in the Studio.  It's Album time in 2025.
 
All in all there is an evolution in Moonist's songwriting and crafting that tries to stretch and shift borders in order to communicate and gain insights and understanding for a language that lies beyond genrefication.

Meine Musik bewegt sich zwischen locker-leichtem Folk und weiten harmonischen Klanglandschaften, zwischen Songs, Instrumentals und Liedern.

Auf meinen Soloalben A Life In All Colours, Under The Surface und The Secret Of Nature Is Patience präsentiere ich melodiöse Eigenkompositionen in einem harmonisch-warmen Klangbild ähnlich der Popmusik der Siebziger Jahre.

Ich bin außerdem Sänger und Gitarrist im Songwriterduo SIT'n'RUDI. 

I am a melodymaker, songwriter, singer and acoustic guitarist.
My music moves between easy going folk and wide harmonic sound scapes,betweensongs in English, instrumental pieces and songs in German.

On my solo albums, A Life In All Colours, Under The Surface and The Secret Of Nature Is Patience I present melodic original compositions in a harmonious, warm sound similar to the pop music of the seventies.

Khruangbin is a band from Texas, started in 2011 by Laura Lee (bass), Mark Speer (guitar), and DJ (drums). We like to make music in a barn.
