The creativity of Forest On Stasys is Influenced by tribal minimalist techno in the nineties and the deepest and most abstract techno currently. In his tracks the most seductive elements are the use of resonant basses perfectly combined with long and reverberated pads, extensive sonorous landscapes that are modified by continuous movement of LFO, solid grooves and strident percussions.

But not everything that comes out of his head is created with an intention to be used on the dance floor. He has a great admiration for drone and ambient tracks, without a rhythmic pattern that predominates, where the main factor is to captivate the listener with melodies that can be marked by a strong melancholy or with notes that give a certain feeling of satisfaction depending on his current mood.

At the beginning of 2019, he released his first  work 'A Vision Of Light' in Danza Nativa, where currently he is one of the pillars of the label based in Buenos Aires.

Our next artist is currently residing in Egypt, was born in 1989 in the United Arab Emirates. He began interacting and connecting with music from childhood, and started going to electronic music events and clubs at a young age. From there he began to make his favorite playlists and mixing. In his sets, he combines sounds that express himself and that of nature, to create an impression of satisfaction. His education is in electrical engineering and computer control, as well as being self-taught in sound engineering and music, driven from passion. Please welcome @djgogy

December's full moon brings the last Selene Series mix of the year. Our 53rd selection wraps up a special year, in which we have had the opportunity to share countless musical adventures. We want to take this opportunity to send a heartfelt 'thank you' to all the artists that have been part of the Selene Series universe: those that contributed to 'The Continuum', those that released music we played in our mixes, and those that made us dream and dance on the dancefloor.  

For the year's closer we chose a sound that, although has been around for years already, we feel has definitely stepped up as a big reality in the 'deep and psychedelic music' realm. Some call it half-time, others tribe, other grey area... but this sound reaches beyond those labels. It picks from breaks, drum and bass, and it is infused with squelchy, wiggly sound design. Some interpret it as fast, some interpret it as, thus the name, half-time. The dancer decides. This sound is as relevant as ever, and we thought there was no better way to finish 2024.

To end a transformative year for the label we say goodbye to 2024 with an icon from the deep scene and amazing human being, Brando Lupi. Deep and classic Italian artist known for his eclectic style as a producer, musician, DJ, and photographer. Combining hypnotic techno with deep atmospheres, haunting melodies and visionary soundscapes, drawing inspiration from industrial rock, experimental and modern classical music.

Brando has a rich history of collaborations with talented artists such as Donato Dozzy and has made a name for himself in the global music scene. In 2000, he founded his independent record label, Detune Records, which has been a platform for his releases. His music has been featured on notable labels such as Kompakt, Orange Groove, Dewtone Recordings, Field Records, and Elettronica Romana, among many others.

One of Brando’s standout achievements was composing a score for the film La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi (The Solitude of Prime Numbers), which was distributed by Medusa and included a soundtrack signed by Mike Patton, leader of Faith No More. The film’s music premiered at the 67th Venice Film Festival, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Currently based in Rome, the artist continues to craft and share his experimental and spiritual soundscapes with audiences worldwide, pushing the boundaries of contemporary music and art in general. Without more words, we let the music talk by itself. Thank you Brando.

O percurso musical de Rui G. denota a sua insaciável curiosidade e dedicação à pesquisa sonora. Movido pelo desejo de explorar novos horizontes da música eletrónica, foi desenvolvendo a sua técnica com habilidade e sensibilidade, desafiando-se constantemente a construir narrativas musicais imersivas, onde cada set é uma jornada cuidadosamente tecida.

O seu fascínio pela eletrónica foi crescendo ao longo dos anos, permitindo um refinamento pessoal que culminou com a sua estréia oficial como DJ, em 2009. Nem dois anos depois, em 2011, aceita o convite para integrar o coletivo Elements, uma plataforma de renome dedicada à música eletrónica, sediada em Coimbra. Esta promotora revelou-se um marco fundamental na sua evolução artística, abrindo portas para atuar em eventos e clubes icónicos da cena eletrónica, tanto em Coimbra como no Porto.
