Once upon a time, V.I.V.E.K Sharda was unhappy with the sound at UK nightclubs and parties—sound that he felt couldn't capture the deepest, truest vibrations of the music he wanted to play and hear—so he just made his own sound system. (Naturally, he called it System.) That should give you an idea of how seriously Sharda takes his wubs and his sub-bass, and if you have even a passing interest in UK sound system culture or dub's crossover with dance music—including, yes, dubstep—then you've probably heard of V.I.V.E.K, or at least heard one of his chest-rattling records.

Along with producers like Om Unit and Kryptic Minds—both of whom feature in the mix below—Sharda has never been one for following trends or concerned about scenes. Instead, he's fully devoted to the pulse of dub and the luxury of bassweight. He's put out slow but steady stream of ultra-heavy releases on his own labels System Music and VIVEK, and now he's on a mission to change perceptions of what 140 BPM music can sound like. That's what you'll hear on his RA Podcast, a meditative and occasionally tectonically-shifting mix that highlights dubstep, dub and its many offshoots—not just staggered drums and subterranean low-end but smooth swing and soulful melodies, too.

Exist Palestine brings forward the highly talented local artists and the brightest musical visionaries in the global electronic music scene. Exist seeks to build bridges between international artists, Palestinian sound innovators, the many that have been displaced and musicians who are unable to attend the festival due to politically set restrictions. The lineups consist of artists who participated in Exist Festival 2019 as well as the ones who will be invited to play the next editions.

Exist show no.11 features Peter Kirn & Francesco Presotto aka Søulless.

PETER KIRN is a musician, writer, composer, and media artist. His work includes creating platforms for exploring the connection between technology and live music and media, including running the daily music technology culture website CDM.link, co-creating the open source, ready-to-play MeeBlip hardware synthesizer, and facilitating collaborative performance hacklabs with CTM Festival and other partners in locations from Berlin to Mexico to Indonesia.
His music has appeared on Detroit Underground, Instruments of Discipline, Snork Enterprises, and his own eclectic label Establishment, including collaborations with Nerk, Robert Lippok, Lower Order Ethics, and Marsch. Music projects have included collaborations with the European Space Agency, media archaeology, spatial audio, fashion design, and modern dance.

SØULLESS is the post-industrial techno project of Francesco Presotto. With his signature sonic arsenal, he stands alone in the worlds of rhythm and noise. His music is to be appreciated on its own terms. You can expect a very personal mix with various themes within the spectrum of dark industrial, in which it proposes a cynical and distressing atmosphere that fits very well with the twisted script of today’s society. One of Italy’s hidden treasures.

Studied Architecture until 4th grade in Lisbon, chose the path of Music and Sound Design in 1998. Rui Gato has been developing a multidisciplinary work of sonic laboratory, having the modulation of the sonic matter and the exploration of its limits as the main conceptual basis. His professional and artistic activities center on realtime musical composition and human<->machine interfaces. Since 2007 started also exploring the motion design, interactivity and synthetic image generation areas.

Is co-director of the production company Horse On Wheels (HOW), author of the projects Elastic Void and Outersites, co-participant of the projects Plat|::|Form and Houselab, and member of the JGM theatre company.
