Sans is resting in the Manor. He was planned to star on Papyrus' show, but turned in all of his vacation days coincidentally before Frisk fell down, so he isn't with Papyrus for the whole game.
Sans cannot be killed in this fight. He will simply dodge and eventually run away if Frisk slashes at him too many times.
