THE WHITE LAKES are set to release their new single ‘Wolves’ on August 23, via Ditto Music across all digital platforms.  

THE WHITE LAKES are an Indie Rock N Roll band from Oxford. Having formed at college, writing music together everyday has made the band extremely close and shows in the tightness of their live performances. ‘Wolves’ is the first release since drawing a fury of A&R attention with their previous release ‘Cigarette’, which was recorded at Metropolis Studios, London.  THE WHITE LAKES are first year students attending at A.C.M. Guildford, Surrey and within a month of being there the band have been put up to headline the Boileroom selling 200 tickets. THE WHITE LAKES recorded their new single ‘Wolves’ at Numan Studios, London and mixed at Metropolis Studios. ‘Wolves’ reveals its fangs from the get go with  thrashing guitars, hurtling drums, thunderous bass and fierce vocals. Singer and writer Matt said, ‘It is about how people's characters change over time, even though sometimes they don't know it, yet it destroys many of the friendships or relationships they have.’

A year after the bands formation THE WHITE LAKES gained attention from local promoters Future Perfect, who put them on a support slot with The Night Cafe. From this came more support slots with The Night Cafe, which included a sold out show with Razorlight at the O2 Indigo and a support show with Cassia. Having created a sizeable buzz in Oxford THE WHITE LAKES sold out their first headline show, selling over 175 tickets. This allowed the band to release three singles, each one getting picked up and played by BBC Introducing Oxford, which resulted in the band getting a slot at Truck Festival to which they packed out the tent at 12pm in the afternoon. This summer they play their biggest set to date at CarFest, North, having played lower down the bill at last summer’s CarFest, South.

From 2019 - 2020, Rule of Young released 5 singles and amassed over 130K streams on Spotify. The band played many of the major venues in Cleveland and was greeted with rave reviews on their singles, "Surrender" and "Lie Better". Following their disbandment in August 2020, lead vocalist and co-writer Cat Calabrese has begun her solo artist journey. 
 
As part of her musical reintroduction, she teamed up with producer and fellow Clevelander, Wavy Duder (co-producer of Machine Gun Kelly's 2020 hit, "In These Walls") to create her first single, "Quicksand", streaming everywhere 3/5/21.
 
Cat also continues to work with her band’s former producer, Jim Wirt. Jim is a 15x platinum and Emmy award winning producer who is best known for producing artists such as Incubus, Gwen Stefani, Fiona Apple, Something Corporate, and Jack's Mannequin. Through Jim’s innovation, she is able to separate herself from the indie pop/alternative sound that her band was known for, and develop the pop sound she always aspired to create: songs full of memorable hooks and driving bass lines coupled with lyrical storytelling. 
 
Cat currently has five additional songs that will be released throughout 2021 and is continuing to write and work on new music daily, all the while balancing her full-time career in accounting. You will also be hearing from her on several features/collaborations that will be released this year.
