It's Dima's 'RUNE' birthday today, and the best gift we can give you is the new Outcast from our dear music friend — EVL TOM @evl_tom Over several years of knowing him personally, Tom has proven himself to be a deep and versatile person, especially when it comes to music. We sincerely admire his deep approach and understanding of styles and are happy to share this two-hour mix with all of you!

"Hello, friends! I was super happy to be asked to do this mix, as the Ukrainian scene and its people are very dear to my heart. Dima asked me for a mix to represent my take on the breakbeat sound as we enter into this new year. I've always felt that breaks can be a versatile and wide-reaching genre, and I’ve tried to explore some of that in this mix.

There are organic, percussive tracks, florida acid, electro and techno ingredients, some reggae, grime, and hip-hop elements, deep rollers, melancholic, melodic bangers, shroomy mind expanders, and plenty of rib cage rattling bass. Just the breakbeat that I love, basically. A few old ones in there but plenty of the new including my new single “Eternal Lids” which is the third single off my upcoming album, “Absolute Melt” which drops on March 1st on OUT YER BOX @out-yer-box. There have been some great new tunes since the beginning of the year and we are still finding some that we missed in the recent past. But we've also dug deeper into history, as the legendary Altern 8 will be coming to Prague in March! We grabbed a collection of rare, unreleased and hard-to-find tracks, edits, bootlegs and remixes that Left/Right put up on Bandcamp for a few hours as part of the CONDU||T LA fire relief fundraiser. And! Our favourite broken party Hyper Real will be back at Fuchs 2 this year, so we asked its curator Opium Hum to send us his selection of 5 current favourite tracks. Thanks a lot! At the very end we remembered our no longer active producers and friends who made tunes influenced by Prague. Because we love Prague :)

Some events unfold so naturally that they feel as if they were painted by life itself. That’s exactly what happened a month ago at PUREBASSLINE event in Granada, where we first met DJ Pepo (@pepodnb). His closing set on the garden stage was an absolute highlight of the night — powerful, flawlessly structured, and performed with precision. Afterward, Pepo revealed that this was his first-ever (!) breakbeat set — and it left an unforgettable impression!

A well-known name in the Spanish Drum & Bass scene, Pepo (@pepodnb) has been shaping his sound since moving to London in 2017.
