Following on from the success of Etticas seminal Close Your Eyes, which also featured outstanding remixes by Pook & Viclan, we felt it only fitting to do a part 2 package continuing on breaking down genre barriers and divisions within electronic music. 

Label boss, and head chef at Lowering Tone Meat Katie brings a rolling uptempo Tech-Funk interpretation that sees him returning to his breakbeat roots, leaning on a tough jacking beat, and a super-sub-bass underpinning all the elements from the original. Next up is a good friend of the label, Brazilian Techno powerhouse, Spuri, head honcho at Hotstage and regular contributor to Tronic, Sincopat and many more world class labels. Spuri supplies us with a heavy Old Skool warehouse remix, with a massive build up that then just locks you down into a frenzy, yet another stunning remix from a rising star of South Americas vibrant Techno scene. 

Finally we get to Davdcase, our man in Texas. In a short time Davdcase has established himself as a real player within the breakbeat scene, with his last single featured on the mighty 83 recordings, this remix shows an effortless display of bridging the gap between Breakbeat & Garage, and as with all the remixes on this package David also nods to the Techno elements from the original but twists them into his own style.

GOOD TIME GIRL

I've been spending a lot time in my music library. I mentioned before that I do a lot of digging for tracks, staying current, as best as I can, with the new tracks being released. As my library gets more and more robust, I find it harder and harder to keep up with the "older" music. To help alleviate this, I've gotten more detail-oriented and critical with my categorizing and "tagging" of tracks. One of the best tricks I figured out to do was creating "intelligent playlists". I can create a playlist of songs within my library from any myriad of parameters. Whatever I can think of to "label" a song, I will. This helps me when I am playing to find music of the same vibe and feel. Well, one of the intelligent playlists I created was "DJ play count 0-1". Wow!! over 2,000 songs that I've played either 0 times, or 1 time. To be fair to myself, the 0 play count songs aren't counting the times I played them on Serato. But, I made the switch to Rekordbox over 3 years ago now. So, a lot of these tunes needed to be "dusted off" if you will. 

Anyway, as always, thanks for listening and being a part of the journey with me. My mixes aren't perfect. I get told all the time to stop putting so much pressure on myself to always put out the perfectly mixed set. My sets are never pre-planned, and when you play for hours on end like that, you are bound to have an imperfect mix here or there. With that said, most of the mixes in this set are within my "tolerable" zone, for myself. #oneLuv | PLUR
