Mad Liberation is a collection of songs that I have been working on for the past year that ranged from mostly original compositions to varied sample work (retro vinyl recordings and new all original recordings); digital synthesis that took me weeks to master; to live instrumentation tediously and soulfully recorded by myself and some of my very good friends. 

This collection of noise - to me - became an album, a sound in a whole, an idea free from limits of thought and more an idea of the heart and soul. Mad Liberation is a piece of me that is representative of my past, breathes life into my present, and is a taste of the future. 

I don't have fancy recording equipment, amazing speakers, crazy keyboards, complicated sample packs, proper studio time, cutting edge midi controllers, or outboard mixing gear. 

What I do have is an endless imagination of the future/now, unrelenting will, constant fascination, and a heart that has no capacity to stop loving and trying. 

This business - when you boil it down - is not about the machine, but about the man. Even electronic music is humanistic. We breath life into these dead things to make them whisper and ROAR!! I am inspired by that fact, and this is what sets me free.

Released in July, Belgian producer Compuphonic’s hazy, light dappled house track ‘Sunset’, has grown through word of mouth to become one of 2012’s biggest underground hits, watched over 2 million times on YouTube. The track, featuring the plaintive vocals of Marques Toliver (Bella Union), is now set for a full re-release in February on Get Physical, backed with remixes from some of the most exciting names in clubland today. 

Fellow Belgian producer, Aeroplane, shows just why he’s one of the most in demand producers around at the moment, delivering a remix that floats from the speakers, expertly capturing the warmth inherent in the original. 

Riding high on the back of acclaimed remixes for T.E.E.D. and Disclosure, London duo Waze & Odyssey inject their trademark house/garage bump n’ grind into the track, whilst up & coming UK producers Aashton & Swift provide a sophisticated remix whose subtle dynamics, synths and piano are sure to soundtrack suns both setting and rising throughout 2013. 

Get Physical’s own David Keno and Fabio Giannelli each retool the track for dark Berlin dancefloors. David’s percussive remix, adds a note of urgency to the original’s laidback command to get ‘Down to the Dancefloor’, whilst Fabio swathes his remix in sepulchral synths, reverb and delay to create a disorientating mix perfect for losing yourself to in the smoke and lights of a club. 

Finally, and exclusive to iTunes, we have Paraguay’s LPZ, whose ‘Late Night Remix’ sees Marques’ vocals ride over a bubbling bassline, portentous metronomic stabs and a solid, driving 4/4 beat.

With releases on labels such as Tiga’s Turbo, 20:20 Vision and his own Union Match Music, Compuphonic, aka Maxime Firket, has long been regarded by those in the know as one of Europe’s best new producers and DJs. Koda from the US is an exciting new addition to Silk Sofa. On SoundCloud, he has gathered over 3,500 followers, and his music is heavily supported on various YouTube channels. Silk Sofa is proud to present his new 4-track EP entitled "Myrina".

"Mikis" begins with a truly hypnotizing atmosphere, created by a vast array of different pad lines. Later, a gorgeous male vocal enters the mix, as well as a lovely, supporting breakbeat. Beautiful "oriental" synths emerge later, providing great additional texture.

The second song is "Labyrinth", which starts off with lush bell melodies that have been arranged in numerous layers. Koda again spices up the mix with his unique vocal, as well as smooth percussion elements and tranquil background piano melodies.

"Hands" introduces beautiful piano melodies, surrounded by soothing pad layers. Additional melodies emerge later, as well as comforting percussion elements. The main vocal is introduced soon thereafter, accompanied by stunning synth additions.

The last track is "Limnos", which starts off with translucent textures and a great, deep bassline. As usual, phenomenal percussion lines are added, and later, Koda once again blesses us with a mesmerizing vocal.
