OCCA, who's leading the Japanese techno scene both in name and fact, is recognized as one of the special figures who continues to inspire the current scene not only as a DJ but also as an event organizer with a comprehensive perspective. 

The set he performed to close DAY 2 started with a techno sound that skillfully blended roaring bass, electronic repetitive sounds that made the audience soar, and organically intertwined drums. In the latter half of the set, when the sun emerged, the audience was treated to more ravey and, at times, even sensory numbing house music, a feat only OCCA could mix up with his solid experience of self-expression in a wide variety of venues. The three-hour set is a perfect opportunity to fully enjoy his extensive library of musics.

We are releasing the recording of the closing set at the indoor stage on the second day of rural 2024 by Qmico, an organic deep techno DJ who has been active in the Tokyo scene for many years. Slowly and steadily building up her energy, she moved patiently through stages to a big release, and the crowd watched her set with ecstatic expressions. Packed with experimental sound effects, the tracks take the audience on an epic techno space trip through a diverse mix of styles.

OCCA hails from the snowy city of Sapporo, located in the northernmost region of Hokkaido, Japan. In addition to inviting renowned DJs like Peter Van Hoesen, DJ Nobu, Haruka, DJ Yazi, and IORI to perform at his Archiv parties at the legendary Sapporo club, Precious Hall, OCCA has established himself as a respected DJ in his own right.

OCCA has played at several notable events, including Future Terror and Gong, which were organized by DJ Nobu, as well as Exit the Labyrinth, Balance by Mindgames, and Dommune×Boiler Room. His performances aim to take the audience on a sonic journey, where he expertly blends existing techno tracks to craft new sounds and create futuristic techno-style elements.

Berlin’s Refracted has been a name dear to us for some time, having contributed a remix to our inaugural label release nearly six years ago. The Paral·lel co-curator and resident has cultivated a devoted following over the years for his uncompromising vision developed through a remarkable catalog of releases for label such as Silent Season, Bitta, Sublunar and his own Mind Express. For our series Refracted contributes a mix true to his signature style, crystalline and patiently layered with unwavering intent, drawing across decades and genres to invite us into a divine state of mind. Equally adept at playing propulsive deep techno, as she is at exploring hazy breaks, sumptuous downtempo, soaring trance, expansive drone, and even full-throttle drum and bass, Sybil’s sets often criss-cross through all of these genres and more, as she guides dancers on journeys which are emotive, thrilling and ultimately revitalising. 
Based in London, a notable UK-flair for genre-fluidity and diagonal rhythms can be found within her psychedelic techno excursions.
