Here’s a new mix to enjoy, recorded at Womb for RDC 15th anniversary closing party. Thank you for letting me play my heart out for this one, on a great system and most importantly with an amazing, open minded crowd that is eager to be surprised. Host of 'Das Lebendige Radio' (formerly on rtm.fm) he popped into our inbox with the following message and mix -

'About six months ago I picked up a green record at a small art and vintage gallery in Pimlico. On the back of the sleeve I read that it was the culmination of a two day workshop focused on the exploration of hip-hop. The twist: The workshop happened at ETAT, a community group for the elderly.

The gallery was full with locals celebrating the opening of its latest art exhibition. As I went up to pay, someone shouted: 'Thats my record!'. A bubbly lady, probably in her 70s walked up to me and took the record out of my hand to proclaim to everyone in the small room: 'This is my record! I'm a rapper!'

This mix is inspired by a chance encounter with a chance piece of art. The record is a loose collage of even looser interpretations of hip-hop. It was the perfect start, middle and end point to explore my own - very loose - interpretation of the genre.'

Ajuma and Palo Santo Discos passed by the Rush Hour store at the end of last year! The mix recorded live in-store was inspired by the colourful sleeves that epitomise the sound of Parotia (Ajuma's own Amsterdam and Utrecht based club night) - expect warm, soulful sounds that embrace the joy of dancing.

Both selectors are familiar faces to the shop and it's about time they soundtracked a Friday evening in our store with some finds from our very own bins alongside discoveries from further afield!

Seoul-based record collector and DJ, this versatile selector digs deep into sounds from across the globe, blending ‘80s and ‘90s-inspired Balearic, Boogie, RNB, and House into seamless, soulful journeys. His mixes have aired on respected stations like Radio TNP, Operator Radio, Amok Radio, Rocket Radio, EHFM, Pinata Radio, Sphere Radio, and Bangkok Community Radio, to name a few.

Under his edit-focused alias TUCAN DISCOS, he's gained global recognition with support from top DJs like Moxie, Paula Tape, H&S, and many more. His edits have been featured on international labels such as Bongosynth (Brazil), Les Yeux Orange (France), and Stereo Ferment (Canada), with more releases expected this year.

He’s played internationally at events like Radio TNP’s ADE party, Hotel 727 (Almaty), Call Me by Bad Time Disco (Hong Kong), Soma Summer (Moscow), Toytonics Jam (Berlin), and Wonderfruit (Bangkok).
