Mr Easy is a man over-flowing with music and melodies that deal with the more harmonious aspects of life.  Mr Easy inherited this named because of his laid back and easy demeanour which he used to conquered the crowd at The New York City's famous Apollo Theatre “Amature Night at the Apollo” where he won the original talent TV show.  Mr Easy received congratulations and encouragement from the likes of Patti LaBelle and Quincy Jones, who were highly impressed. This accomplishment resulted in him receiving a recording contract with Qwest Records. Mr Easy achieved a few hits to his catalogue, such as “Drive Me Crazy” & “Murder”  not to mention his underground hits with the likes of Sean Paul, Beenie Man and Baby Cham.

The sound system, a high-powered mobile disco, has been a cornerstone of Jamaican culture, crucial in disseminating reggae music to the masses. Initially confined to spinning records at outdoor dances (parties) in Kingston, Jamaica's capital, sound systems now command international tours and headline major stage shows, profoundly influencing the global music scene.
FOUNDING AND EARLY YEARS
ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM was established in 1995 by Larry Reid, Ras Adonai, and Garth Gordon. The trio, college friends with a shared passion for sound systems, started their venture in a dorm room at Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York. The nascent ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM began by playing small gigs around the Bronx, eventually securing a regular spot at a restaurant on Mount Eden Avenue, a central hub for the Bronx's Jamaican community. Their reputation grew swiftly and steadily throughout New York City, further cemented by their regular feature on 93.5 FM IRIE JAM, a popular radio station. To maximize ADONAI's potential, Larry and Ras Adonai relocated to Kingston, Jamaica, in 1997, the birthplace of the sound system culture.
NAME AND VISION
“ADONAI,” derived from the Ethiopian Amharic language, means “Father God of all Creation.” Ras Adonai selected this name to encapsulate their musical vision and life philosophy, emphasizing that their achievements would glorify their Creator. Their motto “Sound Of The Future” reflects their ambition to market ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM globally, distinguishing themselves from conventional practices. In 1998, they gained significant prominence through a widely circulated mixtape, making their juggling tapes highly sought in Jamaica and beyond.
EXPANSION AND GLOBAL REACH
ADONAI'S journey from humble beginnings to global acclaim is remarkable. They have graced major US cities such as New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago, and extensively toured Canada, playing in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg. Their international reach extends to England, where they've captivated audiences in London, Leeds, Birmingham, and to Japan, where they've performed in Tokyo, Okinawa, Sendai, Hakodate, Nagoya, Hiroshima, and Osaka. They've also made appearances throughout the Caribbean, including Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Antigua, Tortola, Cayman Islands, US.Virgin Islands, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Maarten, the Bahamas and Bermuda.
In 2003, they expanded to Central America, with shows in Costa Rica and Panama. In the summer of 2006, they became the first Jamaican sound system to play in Gambia, West Africa. Later that year, they thrilled their fans in San Benetto, Italy, ringing in the new year of 2007. Currently, ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM maintains a robust presence in the reggae/dancehall scene, with weekly dances in Jamaica, Florida, and frequent international engagements.
ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY CONTRIBUTIONS
ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM has also made a significant impact on the entertainment industry, featuring in Palm Pictures' highly acclaimed 1999 film “Third World Cop.” They were a resounding success at Jamaica's premier sound system dance, Fully Loaded in 1999, whose live audio remains a collector's item among dancehall enthusiasts. They were the spotlighted sound at Dancehall Night in Montego Bay's Reggae Sumfest 2000, notable achievements in the competitive sound system arena, particularly for a sound system in action for only around five years. They have participated in Death Before Dishonor, a sound clash competition sponsored by renowned organizers Irish and Chin Promotions.
PRODUCTIONS AND RELEASES
ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM has produced a series of releases for VP Records, the only label representing the full spectrum of Caribbean music. In May 2000, ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM presented their own mixed CD of the year's biggest Reggae/Dancehall Hits featured on VP's “Reggae Gold 2000,” the first limited edition double CD of the label's best-selling series. They also contributed to the release of “Dancehall 101 Volume 1,” a compilation of Reggae hits from the 1980s through 1999. By the end of that year, ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM had a new project for VP Records titled “Selector's Choice,” featured on iTunes, Tidal, Spotify, and other music service platforms. ADONAI is the only sound system with an official CD on sale.
CURRENT AND FUTURE PLANS
Fast forward to 2024, ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM is looking to dominate the party scene once again by revamping itself and adding fresh, talented new DJs. With Ras Adonai (FL) and Lava Pryor (JA) as original members, the crew now includes DJ Assassin (FL) and DJ Jerry (JA). This revitalized lineup promises to bring new energy and creativity to their performances. Expect to hear about their efforts around the world in 2024 and beyond, as ADONAI SOUND SYSTEM continues to innovate and influence the global reggae and dancehall scene.

Rushane Dj Rushie Williams was born in St. Ann, Jamaica on November 14, 1991. The creative and innovative edge he dispenses is captured in his work. A disc jockey ,graphic designer and music promoter  , he is inspired by life’s experiences and faces any challenge placed before him. Rushane Williams attended the Ferncourt High School where he sat and acquired 7 subjects at the CSEC level. Dj Rushie is versatile in various fields including electrical engineering, and production, disc jockey and music production. He has been playing music for  over  five years and radio disc jockeying is where his music inspiration was first derived. Dj Rushie create a number of mixtapes to promote any dancehall and reggae artist, worldwide..
Dj Rushie is a quick learner who adapts well to any given situation. Curiosity is embedded in his character and so he first started graphic designing by watching online tutorials which also helped to elevate his already unique skills in visual art. He was able to capture images and create graphical content on a wide scale that can complement any situation.
Rushane Williams dream is to create an entertainment empire which provides a wide range of services, and will include designers, artists, musicians, directors, actors and other talented professionals, Which is under construction……..
