For over a decade, Whitecat has been wholeheartedly committed to his musical identity. Relentlessly pursuing deep, undulating rhythms and dreamy sonic textures, Whitecat’s main obsession will always be the art of playing records. His tastes lean firmly towards stripped-back selections – always with an unmistakable groove. 

This sleek sound that Whitecat is distinguished by emerged upon his discovery of a new wave of minimalist sounds emerging from Romania and its European surrounds. Already armed with a technically immaculate skillset, Tim Reeves-Smith quickly became driven to cultivating this mesmerizing corner of electronic music in Australia’s sonic landscape. This passion has since manifested in Whitecat’s reputation as one of the city's—and the country's—most respected artists in the realm of minimal music.

Through co-founding local brand Mantra Collective, Whitecat has created opportunities to showcase both local and international talent – through regular parties, podcasts and label releases. Whether through his long standing former radio show at important local station FBi Radio, current radio show at community radio, Orbital-Radio, or his time spent slinging records at Something Else Record Store, Whitecat has humbly and diligently established himself as one of the most important contributing figures in Sydney’s music community. 

Aside from his regular schedule that sees him frequent lineups in Sydney and Melbourne, Whitecat has also played in Japan a handful of times, with appearances at respected clubbing institutions (like Dommune) both solo and under the Mantra Collective act.

Robert Roman is surround sound personified. Through multiple channels, he is seemingly everywhere and all at once. By age 8, he was fascinated by the intricacies and subtleties of quality sound. The inception of his career as a DJ/Promoter was brought to life by 18. Through beach-raves, utilizing generators and local talent, he first showcased his understanding and passion for music. This sent waves through his community sparking a new scene in South Texas, allowing Robert to host international DJs at his club residency for the following two years. His motivation to expand his knowledge brought him to Austin, TX, to attend audio engineering school and immerse himself into the Austin electronic music scene. Robert’s ambition for a select caliber of sound led him to spearhead Movement Collective, a party series based in Berlin and Austin, hosting multiple residencies throughout his tenure. The “movement” this inspired in Austin, ignited Blacktone, an agency and party series, founded by Robert’s friends and colleagues which he is now a part of. Furthering his relentless mission to develop and share diverse music, Robert co-founded ubiyu, a record label and party series in Austin, TX. Ubiyu currently hosts two monthly residencies to showcase their roster of international DJ’s and is steadily releasing digital and vinyl EP’s. Robert's appetite for sublime sound and a unique range of selection will never be satiated.

Nothing better than starting the new year with a new analoque tape! For our 14th tape we have invited Dotwish, an skilled UK based artist and producer.
Dotwish already gained his first experience in music production of all kinds of genres at the age of 12. However, it was the simple experience of hearing techno and house music through a fine-tuned club System which changed everything for him. Beiing strongly influenced by the Romanian scene which is known for their intricate sets and well thought out compositions, Dotwish's releases on Vivus Records, Statley Records or Maukaus records distinctively show his talent and understanding of minimal music.

For the 28th podcast edition, we have invited Ion. He is a Romanian artist who started to DJ in 2009 by making scratches on turntables for some young MC’s sessions in 2011. The pathfinder for his journey was underground Hip-hop.

After releasing a couple of his production, he was invited to play as a resident in Trippin Club, Brasov, a period when his playlist has been enriched by covering a wider range of genres such as DnB, dub, electronic up to house and minimal.

After moving to London, he got more focused on dawless production, making music on gear.
In the last three years, he managed to produce more and more tracks and you will find some of them in this set.
