Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1988 and living in Devon from 1989 Russell is a guitarist, singer, songwriter drawing influence from many different genres of music, predominantly Rock and Blues. 

As well as writing and recording, Russell is building a great reputation for his energetic live guitar driven performances and is building an enthusiastic fan-base throughout the South West.

June 2015 sees the release of Russells debut album entitled "Bought & Sold", songs from which will be performed at various UK Blues festivals throughout the year. A small UK promotional tour is also scheduled following recent small tour successes in Holland and Germany.

Russell will be performing with his regular band  - The Smokin' Locos.

I'm a full-time writer and part-time/freelance composer.

Please be aware that everything on my playlist is straight out of a DAW and hasn't been mastered or, in most cases, even EQed. Everything here is cutting-room-floor stuff, simply because I am allowed to use that while I  don't have permission to use full/completed works. 

Please also note that everything here except 'Arrival' was created for a specific project and to a specific brief; i.e. designed to facilitate the telling of a story without drawing attention to itself, and with the intention of underscoring dramatic action - which, obviously, is the focus. One such project was set in India, hence the dominance of instruments such as the dilruba, sitar and tabla in some tracks. Another project (Welcome to Samundra) is set on the ocean floor. As a jazz pianist with the job of writing soundtracks, I have two foci: instrumentation and harmony. The rest, I am learning.

Nonetheless, if you like anything then get in touch; I'm always keen for interesting commissions and collaborations, whether it's a sting or a musical.
