I started DJing many years ago on vinyl in London which was my home for 9 years. Back in the days where you'd go record shopping and hope to find some of the bangers heard out at Fabric or the Cross night club.  I started playing out at a bar/club called the Dog Star in Brixton and bars in Islington whilst also playing house parties.  When I moved to Melbourne 16 years ago I played a few times on RRR radio.  I also played at the Point in Albert Park, Room in Hawthorn, My Aeon in a b2b set.  I also DJ’d a street party on Bell St, Coburg. My last big gig was in 2015 when I played at New Guernica.  I landed up taking a 5 year break from music, it's a long story but a year ago I decided I simply couldn't not have my passion back in my life and what better place to play until your heart’s content than that of the Dandenong Ranges where my nearest neighbours can't hear the bass :-).  Over the last 6 months I have released 12 new mixes on Sound Cloud.  I deleted my former account and have decided to start from the grass roots up again after what has been a journey of change and one where I found myself again, I guess you could say I found GraciousNess after my namesake Vanessa and a love for everything that embodies the art of Nessism. I have also discovered my grove with Organic Downtempo House which I believe is a natural progression given my devotion to deep house and house spanning over 2 decades.  It's also such an exciting genre to play with as you can explore so many different key change variations with seamless transitions more so than other genres I have played.  I have travelled to 47 countries and lived in 3 and I love combining beats with earthy etherial sounds that embody instrumentalism, tribalism with melodic vocals. I feel at my most complete when combining Middle Eastern grooves, Latin house undertones with piano loops and a string quartet to take the listener on an uplifting and reflective journey.  I am also dual nationality half South African/half English with Australian citizenship so combining all these international beats as well as playing with tribal and Afro grooves feels like a natural fit for me ❤️
