"Sakay" is a song about the sentiments of Filipino drivers facing a big threat to their livelihood to be caused by the government's "Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP)" that aims to 'upgrade' the existing public transportation system.

Filipino drivers and operators are not against modernization but the government pushes for a modernization that is anti-poor and is not inclusive for the Filipino transport workers.

We push for a modernization through rehabilitation, refining, and upgrading of the roadworthy traditional jeepneys.
