Reunion

I daydream a lot. Not sure if it's normal, but it helps me cope - especially when I spend a lot of time by myself. What I've noticed over the years is that my daydreams have evolved over time.

I remember before I started music production, I did martial arts. I started when I was about 7 years old. It started with Tae Kwon Do, then branched off to Muay Thai, a bit of Filipino weapon training and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I also did wrestling in High School.

Out of the different disciplines, my favorite was Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Defending against a larger opponent was something Brazilian Jiu Jitsu focused on. This was something that appealed to me - especially since I'm a small guy myself. I felt I was good at it, relative to the other martial arts I've learned. It also allowed me to defend myself without causing bodily harm. Who likes hurting people - not me.

Anyways, I simply wanted to bring this up for context. I used to daydream about one day meeting that special someone and teaching her self-defense. Giving her the confidence and skills to defend herself against attackers. Bonding through shared struggles and feeling secure in each other's company.

Now here I am years later and my daydreams have evolved. Now I daydream of one day making a song dedicated to that special someone. Sounds cliche, but that's what I think about.

For now I just play make-believe. The music I create is personified by the image in the album art. I know I'm no longer a child playing make-believe, but it's true. I'd rather make a song about an imaginary person than creep people out by making songs about real people I don't know - hell no, I'm not doing that.

This song is called, Kiyomi - meaning pure and beautiful. May our memories bring forth happiness, not regret, when we sleep one last time.

Recently she returned with a collaboration with viral music star Dean Lewis having released the hauntingly beautiful song “28”. The song and lyric video are available everywhere.
