2015 saw Rebekka Van Bockstal play regularly with three extraordinary colleague-musicians/students at the Conservatory of Ghent. They had an immediate connection, which made it an easy decision to create her own band. As RVB Quartet, Rebekka Van Bockstal (Guitar), Marius Couvreur (Drums), Ambroos De Schepper (Sax) and Thibaut Talpe (Bas), they started performing live in 2016.
They’ll start recording their first demo’s in February. RVBQ will perform pieces, mostly composed by Rebekka, inspired by modern jazz-greats like: Gilad Hekselman, Mark Turner, Wayne Shorter, etc.… Their music’s central tenet is interaction and beauty.
