A mesmerizing trip from Krautland through Electronic Fields to Hypnotonia‒exploring the textures of haunting melodies, lucious dreamscapes and tribal, dancefloor-ready beats. After their highly acclaimed debut album “Im Klanggarten” (on Bigamo – label of Frank Wiedemann / Âme), this is Fred und Luna’s next fascinating step in their “Elektrokraut/Krautelektro” series.

Who are Fred und Luna?
"Fred und Luna" are two mannequins living in a fashion boutique in Karlsruhe, Germany. They serve as muse for musician, lector, poet and photo/video maker Rainer Buchmüller.
Inspired by his doll friends and his love for German electronic music of the past decades, Rainer Buchmüller under the alias “Fred und Luna” produces his self-created genres Elektrokraut and Krautelektro: both a modern combination of repetitive rhythms, beautiful melodies, electronic soundscapes and elements from the Krautrock era.
Under the name of “Ariston Baton” Rainer Buchmüller also writes and performs sound poems and concrete poetry. On live events and especially on exhibitions Ariston Baton is joining “Fred und Luna” and Rainer Buchmüller’s third identity “Vizudaru Nono”, who is contributing video and photo projections. Together they form the so called “Equipe Nadaphysique”. The next exhibition featuring all three named personalities will take place end of October 2018 at Rockomotives Festival, Vendôme/France.

A brief history of Fred und Luna
Having previously released the EP “Glück auf” on the Scottish label Optimo Music and being remixed by Prins Thomas for the Berlin label Innervisions, the year 2017 saw Fred und Luna feature their debut album “Im Klanggarten” on Frank Wiedemann’s (Âme, Howling) newly-founded label Bigamo Musik.

After the first editions of both the EP and LP being sold out quickly, live shows in Germany, France and England followed as well as remixes for Peter Pardeike (Connaisseur Recordings) and a common release with Trikk on Innervisions, among others.
A team-up with Achim Treu (UFO Hawaii) resulted in several remixes for international musicians.

‘Music for the Edge of an Island’ sees Abbott divert from his typically experimental electronic style to explore a more compositional approach centred around VST instruments. Rather than the usual themes of synthesis and improvisation, the album is lead by piano motifs, structured around emotive melodies and sparkling arrangements. The record began as a part of a soundtrack commission by producer / actor Jessica Hynes for her film ‘The Fight’ and ultimately became a fully-realised album. The film script had a coastal setting that created the record’s thematic idea: “I had this idea about being on the edge of England, almost ready to fall off a cliff into the sea but keeping your balance on the edge.”

New EP 'In Moonlight', Akira Kosemura composed four piano pieces with the inspirations of the several female images. 'In Moonlight, Op. 1 & 2', the series take you to the quiet place, put yourself in the moonlight, a moonbeam breaks then shakes the shadow of you. 'Minerva', bearing the name of Roman mythical goddess Minerva, it makes you symbolize a wise and beautiful woman. 'Trace', we can image the feeling of her who stands the branch point of life, her past and future. This album shows us the various expressions however, there are the fragile beauty and close protective calmness of all songs, and it's everything you expect from Akira Kosemura.

Born in Tokyo in 1985, Japanese composer Akira Kosemura debuted his first solo album, “It’s On Everything”, on an Australian label in 2007 while he was still in school. That same year, he founded his own label, Schole Records, and garnered good reviews by releasing various albums of crossover genre music featuring the sounds of piano, strings, winds, synthesizers, and field recordings. Akira has composed music for film, stage, and commercials, including the OWN series Love Is__ produced by Mara Brock Akil, TBS series Chugakusei Nikki, a contemporary ballet piece MANON choreographed by Kimiho Hulbert, and Japan Pavilion in Milano EXPO. In recent years, he has worked collaboratively with international brands such as TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. MAISON DE REEFUR, Nikon, Rado, IKEA and KINFOLK. Also Akira featured Devendra Banhart on a single titled Someday. His works have received high acclaim from media outlets around the world, including Pitchfork in the US.
