"With a band name mingled from album titles by John Coltrane and Sun Ra one might expect Mythic Sunship to be jazz band. However, this is not quite the case, although the Copenhagen quartet shares a similar sense of exploration and general untamedness with that of the two masters of cosmic jazz.

The destination is transcendence alright, but the vehicle, ultimately, is assembled from decades of ROCK! Not your dad’s rock exactly (unless your dad hung out in Münich or Wümme in the early 1970s, that is), but nonetheless ROCK, where ferocious drum-pounding and thick, Geezery basslines adds fuel to an endless pyre of blazed-out dual fuzz guitar action. This stuff is wild.

Spiritually, the band seems connected to present day So Cal psych-rock, but listening to Ouroboros, their debut album, also reveals the band’s strong ties to the Copenhagen underground scene: members of the band brushing elbows with the avant-garde noise of the record label Posh Isolation as well as the Mayhem venue, and even chips in with the new weird-commune of the Festival of Endless Gratitude. These bros are in the zone alright!

There’s plenty of blissed-out riff-worshipping here, but there’s also something slightly unsettling in the band’s skyward travels - perhaps a longing for spiritual redemption? Maybe the road to Satori isn’t necessarily pretty after all."

Respected house producer Josh Butler is back, armed with his brand new ‘Link’ EP on Edwin Oosterwal and Joris Voorn’s legendary Rejected imprint. The EP once again proves Josh’s ability to continuously deliver the kind of high quality tech-house that has entrenched him as an integral figure in the underground UK house scene.

The title track ‘Link’ stays true to Butler’s less-is-more philosophy while also showcasing his incredible sound-design and production know-how. The percussion takes centre stage as Josh brings in conga rolls, a soulful vocal refrain and lush, atmospheric pads to contribute to an inimitable groove. Two distinct mixes of the track, a melodic mix and a dub mix, are generously provided on the EP and both demonstrate the intricacies inherent in Josh’s production.

Rounding off the release is ‘Need Me’, the EP’s deeper venture that combines minimalist instrumentation centred around a grooving bassline, subtly making itself known above the driving percussion. Throughout the EP, Josh succeeds in delivering vast symphonic landscapes within the pretext of measured and characteristic instrumental restraint. Partygoers can expect to hear both sides of the EP receive serious airtime across the club circuit as the Ibiza season kicks into full swing this month.

Drummer Steve Fidyk gathers together a powerful lineup of "Allied Forces" for his second tour of duty with Posi-Tone.  Employing a combination of both subtlety and power, Fidyk clearly demonstrates his commanding mastery of the trap kit.  Additionally, his skillful leadership of an all-star band — featuring the amazing frontline contributions of tenor saxophonist Doug Webb and alto saxophonist Joseph Henson alongside the able assistance of guitarist Shawn Purcell, and organist extraordinaire Brian Charette joining Fidyk in the rhythm section — successfully pushes his hard hitting melodic message right to the front lines and then brings everyone safely back home for a victory parade.  Critical listeners will certainly enjoy this energetic and thoughtful program of swingingly straight ahead selections. Cognitive dissonance is, at this point, an everyday part of modern society. The difference between belief and reality is blurrier than ever, and there is often sufficient manipulation to both so as to make the distinction intentionally unclear. The source of those manipulations can either be external, or deceptively internal.

False Readings On is the new album from renowned experimental composer, Eluvium. Its creation was originally inspired by themes of cognitive dissonance in modern society. By its conclusion it had become a mirror rather than a magnifying glass, evolving into an hour-long meditation on self-doubt, anxiety, and separation from one's self.

There is an emotional lucidity and melodic ingenuity to Eluvium's music that has made him increasingly stand out from the sea of ambient artists that his earlier albums no doubt helped inspire. From the Parada 88 induced riot in a Tokyo record store to the glorious English eccentricity of Weatherall remixing Harvey Bassett, this compilation really shows International Feel’s maverick spirit and their desire to tread a different path to the sausage waveforms, ringtone music or ‘let’s do 100 white labels with just a badly designed hand stamped logo and be really cool’ ethos of many of their brethren (although they tried that too !)

The two CD’s showcase their true Balearic-ism (Mmmm that’s not really a word is it), with Disk 1 (almost) revealing some Top of the Pops vocal moments and Disk 2 taking a deeper, more Epic path (well, apart from the aforementioned Weatherall remix of Locussolus), but overall, it leaves you feeling that something (whatever that may be) worthwhile has actually happened deep down in Uruguay over the past 3 years and this CD is, as label owner Mark B says, the perfect time capsule of International Feel’s original and ongoing desire to create a music & design legacy of lasting quality (or as Partridge once said....cult viewing figures).

Harvey goes into Studio with Flu (and a bottle of Jack Daniels), rants (not realising he’s been recorded), Weatherall asks for remix parts, engineer sends (forgetting about the rant), Weatherall hears and decides to base the whole remix around it - dangerous and hilarious as only a combination of Harvey and Weatherall could be.

2. Rimini '80 - Boys from Patagonia
Two Cousins, a CS-80 and a large dose of Slo Mo Italian Cheese, as loved by Mr Terje, Horsemeat, Optimo and many others.

3. I Travel To You - Bepu N'Gali 
Afrobeat from Botswana part 2, this time the dirty, groovy original direct from Bepu’s studio in Gaborone.

Deep (with a capital D) Spacey House from the Uruguayans. Proper Headphone Music.

Still one of the best tracks to emerge from the so called Cosmic scene....Balearic, groovy with shades of Lalo Schifrin.  A Timeless Journey into the unknown.

6. Adventure Party - The Globe  
Another one of our super limited white labels of acid disco Italo madness.  Moved a cast of dancefloor 1000’s anywhere and everywhere and now on discogs for silly money.

7. Love's a Dancer - Flights of Fancy 
Late 70’s electro Balearic boogey mixed with the vibe of McCartney’s ‘Live & Let Die’.  Popular with Terje, Soulclap, Balearic Mike and on.

8. (I am a) Series of Strange Loops- Hungry Ghost
Balearic Kraut Afro Rock.  No-one but Mr Fritto and Mr Weaver makes music like this and luckily (for them) everyone from Francois K to Weatherall and Giles Peterson seems to love it.  

9. Morgengruss III - IFEEL Studio
Our reworking of the Popul Vuh track from Herzog’s ‘Aguirre, the Wrath of God’, with more than a little help from Richard Hawley’s studio band.
