“Počarovať" means to cast a spell. In Slavic “mythology" and historical practice is this activity closely connected to the love magic. There have been hundreds of spells helping young and old with searching for love. One of the very powerful artefacts is blood. Who drank the blood of the other person felt under hers or his spell. 

The Western world’s discomfort with menstrual blood is evident in its relative absence from just about every aspect of life. The recent world forgot the power of our own bodies or repressed ancestral wisdom. 
Love rituals all over the world are using the power of period blood because of its potency.
Though there is a persistent and widespread legacy of negative associations with periods and period blood “almost a cultural universal” (Strassmenn). 

Love potions are one of the more frequent uses for menstrual blood in folk conviction (including hoodoo),  these rites have been repeated on the territory of recent Slovakia, Moravia, Ukraine or Poland. In the western world, you could come across stories about blood rites aiming to distrust individuals and cultures viewed as below the status of white, Western doctors. 

This rehabilitating of the occult properties of menstrual blood is, in many ways, a sign of recent times liberating ourselves to design our own narratives and retelling narratives of our origins.  

Menstrual blood has long been at the core of mythology and magic dogmas, but it has also been the source of persecution and hostility; the blame of period-havers is prevalent throughout much of anthropological narrative. By supporting the energy of the period — the power to control it, to articulate its honour, and even to put it to practice — menstruating individuals are asserting themselves over a legacy of stigma and alienation.

It is time to rehabilitate stigmatized and repressed individuals and groups. It is time to be powerful - together.
