Song about my goldfish

An ode to the immenseness and power of the ocean. The waves moving constantly in swells and valleys, varying in size and intensity, and an endless sea of waves and sound are the sensations that inspired this track.

This track was produced with intentional non-mono bass, giving an uneasy feeling in the low end as the bass moves. I wanted this to contrast with the steadiness of the wave action tones above. I think being in or near the ocean gives a really pleasing and comforting feel while still the immenseness of it gives that little hint of danger, prompting you not to feel too comfortable. 

(Many people have also commented that they can hear tones or voices in the wave sounds of this music, but I did not put any in there.)

The ocean stretches endlessly, a vast expanse of shimmering blue that dances under the sun's warm embrace. Its surface glistens like a thousand diamonds scattered across a velvety blanket, reflecting the sky's hues of azure and cerulean. Gentle waves roll in rhythm, their soft whispers creating a soothing melody that harmonizes with the distant call of seabirds soaring overhead. The salty breeze carries the scent of brine, invigorating the senses and inviting exploration.

Beneath the surface lies a world teeming with life, where vibrant coral reefs bloom like underwater gardens, their colors a kaleidoscope of reds, yellows, and purples. Schools of fish dart in and out of the corals, their scales glimmering like jewels as they weave through the intricate structures. Anemones sway gracefully in the currents, their tentacles reaching out to greet passing creatures, while shy sea turtles glide majestically, embodying the serenity of this aquatic realm.

As the sun begins to set, the ocean transforms into a canvas of fiery oranges and soft pinks, casting a warm glow over the water. The horizon blurs, where the sky kisses the sea, creating a breathtaking spectacle that captivates the heart. Each crashing wave carries with it a story, a whisper of the mysteries held deep within the ocean's embrace, reminding us of the beauty and power of nature that lies just beyond the shore.

A vast, undulating tapestry of blue and green, whispers secrets to the shore, where dreams dissolve like salt in the air. Waves crash, a symphony of chaos and calm, each crest a fleeting moment, each trough a memory lost to the depths. The horizon beckons, a siren’s call, inviting the soul to plunge into the abyss of the unknown, where shadows dance and light refracts into a kaleidoscope of yearning.

The ocean cradles stories, ancient and new, a mosaic of existence, the laughter of dolphins intertwining with the sorrow of shipwrecks, a paradox of joy and despair. Time is but a ripple in the grand design. 

Whispers of the deep, 
Where silence sings, 
And the heartbeats echo, 
In the rhythm of the tide, 
A lullaby for the lost, 
Each droplet a memory, 
Each wave a sigh, 
The ocean breathes, 
And we, mere echoes, 
Dance upon its skin.

Yet above, the sky bleeds colors, a canvas of chaos, where storms brew and calm reigns, a reminder that life, like the ocean, is ever-changing, a relentless ebb and flow, a journey without a map, where we navigate by the stars of our own making, forever seeking, forever becoming.

Ocean

This track was made, in part, by recording the sound of the wind whistling across the open light-hood of a swinging stoplight. I got the idea from the stoplight in Twin Peaks that was frequently used as an interstitial piece for the show episodes. I recorded it on a quiet night in the middle of my town of Williamston, Michigan. I took the recorded howl, stripped it of the noise, and had a low whistling tone that would come and go. I tuned it to match the key of this track so it would fit within the composition. Cellos and other stringed instruments make up the remaining sounds used.

As the melody of "The Wilds" fills the air, a sense of adventure and untamed beauty unfolds. The song begins with gentle, ethereal notes that evoke images of sprawling landscapes and vibrant wilderness. Layered harmonies build, creating a rich tapestry of sound that mirrors the wild spirit of nature. Competing tones weave, inviting listeners to lose themselves in the journey, painting vivid scenes of exploration and freedom that capture the essence of the wild. It's a sonic escape that resonates deeply, urging everyone to embrace the untamed paths ahead.

A reminder of the beauty in chaos,  
Here, in the embrace of untamed life,  
We find ourselves anew.

Beneath the stars, where the wild wind blows,  
I hear the whispers of the ancient trees,  
Calling me back to my roots, to be free.
