Yi-Jia Susanne Hou is a Chinese-Canadian virtuoso concert violinist based in France.  She tours worldwide with leading orchestras and conductors and as a recitalist.  

Early in her career, she won three unanimous first prizes of prestigious international violin competitions in France, Italy and Spain.  She's since performed in more than 50 countries.

In 2013 she recorded the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra playing an outstanding 1735 ex-Fritz Kreisler Mary Portman Guarneri Del Gesu Violin as a tribute to its unique history. 

In 2016 and 2017, she performed and recorded the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on a world tour that included Canada and China.

A passionate advocate for music education, Susanne Hou consistently engages in creative projects involving early classical music coaching as well as mentoring aspiring young artists.
