Following this year’s acclaimed singles ‘Presence’ and ‘Colors of Life’, as well as the upcoming ‘Silk & Fur’ (out September 19), ‘Aelle’ is a masterfully woven collection of tracks that balances the intensity of the dance floor with the intimacy of personal listening. Speaking about the upcoming album, OXIA commented: “As with my previous albums, I let my creativity run free once again, without setting limits. ‘Aelle’ also highlights OXIA’s collaborative spirit, featuring contributions from long-time friends and creative partners. Faces sees him reunite with label co-founder Nicolas Masseyeff, while ‘Silk & Fur’ and ‘On The Trip’ see him team up with Yannick Baudino. The album also welcomes compelling vocal performances from Hen Wen (Calling The Sun) and Hacène (Silk & Fur).

Musically, the record flows through a rich spectrum: melodic, groove-driven tracks (Nuance, Faces), ethereal pieces laced with emotion (Calling the Sun, Saisons), and moments of deep, poignant melancholy (Aerial). Next up on the Clandestino lads' new label (think "the acid house Compo, Foggy & Clegg") is a return for the wonderful Coyote couple. On this mix, they bring in CHIDA, who takes the original, bright 303s and casts a darker shadow over the whole affair. Concrete bass kicks and hi-hats lead into some deep bass business, laser swipes, rewinds, and black disco toms. It's a much moodier and unsettling version, suited to basement brethren rather than big room Barrys. Layered with echoes and karate chop FX, it's worth fighting for.

Over the course of 150 releases, Canadian label My Favorite Robot Records has established itself as one of electronic music’s key imprints. Their latest is another special offering of well sculpted club sounds that come from the talented Fairmont.

Jake Fairley aka Fairmont is an electronic music producer, live performer and DJ from Toronto, Canada, who has put out three albums, the last of which came on this label in 2012. His artful EPs have come on labels like Border Community, Days of Being Wild and his own Beachcoma imprint as well of course on his home from home, My Favorite Robot Records. Out of the studio Fairley has long held a reputation as an impressive live performer and is currently in the process of putting together a new show. This brand new show will feature hardware he has built himself from studio components, encased in perspex and lit up like the setting sun; expect something special, part live show, part art installation!

This latest release opens with the compelling ‘Carthage’ a track built around lush layers of supple and reflective synths. Big bass broods below and the effect is trance inducing and serene. At eight minute long this epic piece of work never outstays its welcome and instead just lulls you deeper under its electronic spell.

Next up, ‘Loose Teeth’ is another elongated track that progressively builds and builds in exquisite fashion with Sasha-esque synths bubbling away. It’s widescreen and intergalactic and full of class. Last of all, this transcendental synth trip concludes with the gorgeous ‘With Closed Eyes.’ Landing almost fully formed, it is slick and sleek electronic music with long tailed pads, carefully decaying synth lines and a kinetic sense of energy with whispered vocals up top.

Spine tingling and sure to take any DJ set to the next level, this is a sublime trio of tracks from Fairmont and MFR and sets the stage perfectly for the live show to come.

The latest instalment from @Roam-Recordings comes from acclaimed Belgian producer and DJ @CabaretNocturne who has previous releases on labels such as Beachcoma, My Favorite Robot, Nein, Factor City, and Rotten City.  

His new EP for Roam Recordings is a fine addition to his already excellent discography. The title track Western Ghost sets the stage for this EP that sounds like it could be from a movie set somewhere in the desert outside of LA. 

The Western Ghost EP  comes with one other original 'Lost Town' and rounded off with excellent remixes from Kieran Holden and Damon Jee. Both of these accomplished producers take on one of the originals and deliver their own spin within the theme of this EP.

Glasgows own Petrichor makes a more than welcome return to his home label with the beautifully crafted Cloud Chamber EP. After a series of well received singles and a stunning debut album under his belt at Soma, Petrichor cemented his name within the labels ranks with his profound and delicate production style. This newest EP continues to see the talented producer go beyond the norm in his approach to his music. 

Title track Cloud Chamber opens the EP in a typically stylistic way. Petrichors clean, grooving drum patterns are joined by ethereal pads that sweep effortlessly into existence, each layer adding is own particular nuance to the track all designed to deliver a unique emotive piece. Keeping the organic, beat driven feel, Rah-Koh delves even deeper. Animated percussive elements provide a background for yet more stirring synth work from Petrichor who uses spacial, dubbed out sections creating a subtle and mesmerising track. Completing the EP, Petrichor reworks the previous track creating Koh-Rah a perfect trip into the ambient stratosphere where he creates an evolving and modulating soundscape built around glistening pads and processed sound fields. 

The wait may have been a long one but the final product from Petrichor is always worth it.
