Mark Jenkyns returns to the Crosstown Rebels family with his latest release on their sister label Rebellion. Complete with a remix from label newcomer James Dexter, 4.1 is an array of tribal beats, exploratory percussion and mesmerising vocals. 
 
Taking a divergent approach to his production, evocative vocals envelope a naggingly effective bassline and melody in title track 4.1. Jenkyns explains that “the track is something different, it’s a little groover with a hypnotic vocal perfect for outside parties”. On the flip, James Dexter has curated an ​almost entirely different track on the remix, bringing his signature bassline to the space-age electronic samples.
 
Formerly a steel engineer, Jenkyns discovered his passion for djing and production after his first season on the White Isle. Earning his stripes through numerous gigs and a residency for Paradise at DC10, Jenkyns has had several releases on Hot Creations as well as; Suara, Of Unsound Mind, Lost and Viva.
 
A reputable figure within house music, James Dexter boasts an impressive array of previous releases on the likes of Poker Flat Recordings, Dessous Recordings and Holid Trax. These productions have earned James regular features and chart success on download sites, Beatport and Traxsource.

Virtuoso and dancefloor zealot Mihai Popoviciu is back with his first solo release on Still Hot. Once again we get invited to his world of subtle and sophisticated sound design. 

The name giving A-side 'Sushi Cat' bursts with coolness and understatement. The airy beat and cunningly arranged bassline build the foundation of this puristic groove monster. 

'Dub Hot' comes round the corner just as cool as its bigger brother but offers an almost hypnotic lead sound that patiently floats through the panorama. Supported by an unobstrusive but yet hunting tapestry of sound 'Dubhot' quickly drifts off into darker realms. 

We're happy to welcome back Alex Flatner who flexed his muscles to give 'Dub Hot' quite a facelift as we know it from him. Flatner succeeds in taking 'Dub Hot' in a rougher, more techno- ish direction with quite a massive portion of acid which enriches this great EP with even more artistic versatility and vigorous effect. 

With 'Austral', a dreamy and once again super autonomous dancefloor beauty that will make you push the repeat button of your sound system immediately, Popoviciu closes this EP with pure class... as if we could have expected it otherwise from him.

Ever-impressing UK talent James Dexter makes a return to Bondage-Music this December as he drops his latest three track EP Lets Go Back. 2018 has been a substantial year for London based DJ and producer James Dexter, with appearances at the likes of fabric (London), Claire (Amsterdam) and Sash (Sydney) and releases on Little Helpers, Gruuv, Deeperfect and his own Inermu imprint in the past 12 months alone. With the New Year in sight, here we find three new fresh productions in the form of his Lets Go Back EP, marking a return to Bondage Music in the process following his recent remix of Frinks Sofisticate on the imprint. Title cut Lets Go Back opens proceedings as Dexter reveals an up-front, bumping cut armed with crunchy drum licks, infectious vocal samples and rich, airy chords, before Simple Things utlises further rich and soulful vocals alongside crisp skipping hats and resonant kicks to guide the production through seven minutes of groove driven house music. Last up, Dexters Roll Through pairs refined, stripped back organic percussion arrangements with wandering synth lines and vocal coos to wrap up the EP in fine fashion.

A Motor City, Berlin, London hybrid, Ryan Crosson is a complex artistic creature. Equal parts energetic, down to earth Detroit native and ultra-refined, musical aesthete, Ryan has one ear to the club and one ear far, far beyond. Known the world over for shape shifting, shoulder shaking tracks on groundbreaking labels including M_nus, Supplement Facts, Spectral, Wagon Repair, and his own Visionquest, Ryan’s production and sampling practices depart from the worlds of house or techno by referencing musique concrète, Downtown New York funk, and East African jazz. Born and raised on a steady diet of post-apocalyptic landscapes, dark warehouses, and the sounds of Plastikman, Matthew Dear, Magda, and Villalobos, Ryan’s DJ sets aim to expand the horizon of possibility without sacrificing dance music’s core element of sweaty, hedonistic fun. His unique musical vocabulary and tireless dedication insure him a place in the dynasty of forward-thinking techno transplants.

Alongside Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves, Ryan is responsible for the day-to-day running of Visionquest, one of dance music’s most cherished and eclectic imprints. Ryan and his partners in Visionquest have honed a whole new landscape of lush, organic techno and esoteric leftfield electronica. In 2014, Ryan oversaw the construction of Visionquest’s newest venture—their digital arm and sub-label Brachtune. Full of off-kilter, loopy and positively circus vibes, the tracks showcased on Brachtune will remind long-time friends and fans of Ryan’s early morning sets in the notorious “Tesh Club” basement.

In addition to his work with Visionquest, 2014 was Ryan’s most prolific production career yet, with a staggering number of releases on labels such as Darkroom Dubs, Mobilee, and . Highlights include Bricolage, Ryan’s hotly anticipated first EP for Visionquest, especially the labyrinthine, twisted “Club Chimes,” a heady collaboration with long-time friend and fellow Visionquest artist Cesar Merveille. The year also saw Don’t Be Left Out, a mix CD with another fellow traveler Matt Tolfrey, which has been described as “deep, diverse, and exciting all the way through.”
