Vertere Soundsystem are Jonas and Uli, the two minds behind the fashion brand Vertere Berlin.
"Strictly dancefloor business" is not only the motto of their brand but also summarizes their last 10 years in the Berlin music game. After various DJ projects, party series, small festivals, live streams, their hearts still beat for the scene and they can't wait to pick things up again this year.
At the beginning of 2020, before this pandemic madness, they invited me to play for their fashion week party at Paloma where we had the pleasure to share the decks for the first time. Hopefully our paths will cross again soon!

There are DJs, and then there are DJ’s DJ's.

Julien Veniel, artist name D’Julz, is undoubtedly one of the latter - a true craftsman behind the decks whose true strongest skill is his ability to go beyond mere genres and trends, deciding instead to actively shape the ever-changing soundscape of electronic music through his own productions, DJ performances and parties.

Through a career spanning two and half decades, D’Julz has practically done it all. He began spinning in Paris, often playing his home city’s much-talked about early 90’s raves and legendary clubs, all before moving to New–York in 1993 to further hone his skills and cement his reputation as a true taste-maker in his field. The rest, as they say, is history.

Despite finding himself in high demand in every corner of the globe, from the States to Japan and countless countries in between, D’Julz has always remained true to his roots in Paris, where he has been running the now legendary “Bass Culture” night at Rex club since 1997.

In tandem with the birth of his party D’Julz has dedicated a large amount of time and energy into the production side of his musical output. Solo-wise his music has been signed to some of the world’s finest underground labels – Circus Company, Robsoul, Ovum, Rekids, 20:20 Vision and more. Since D’Julz started producing he has been responsible for a long list of tracks and remixes that have become essential weapons in the record boxes of the world’s DJ elite.

As a DJ he exudes class and panache. A gifted curator of music whose pedigree has earned him a loyal international following and a constant tour schedule which sees him travel the worlds major cities every week playing the best venues they have on offer. Not to mention the infamous Circoloco (DC10) where he has held a long-standing residency, taking charge of the main room and the world-renowned red terrace room several times each summer season. Each set demonstrating D’Julz’s uncanny ability to weave his penchant for dub elements into the house and techno sphere and rocking DC10 with potent groove and sultry rhythms.

D’Julz remains as enthusiastic as he was when he first started DJing, as his Bass Culture label goes from strength to strength, clocking over 50 releases and he continues to traverse the globe rocking dance floors every weekend.

A true legend and one who will continue to be at the top of his game…

A Motor City, Berlin, London hybrid, Ryan Crosson is a complex artistic creature. Equal parts energetic, down to earth Detroit native and ultra-refined, musical aesthete, Ryan has one ear to the club and one ear far, far beyond. Known the world over for shape shifting, shoulder shaking tracks on groundbreaking labels including M_nus, Supplement Facts, Spectral, Wagon Repair, and his own Visionquest, Ryan’s production and sampling practices depart from the worlds of house or techno by referencing musique concrète, Downtown New York funk, and East African jazz. Born and raised on a steady diet of post-apocalyptic landscapes, dark warehouses, and the sounds of Plastikman, Matthew Dear, Magda, and Villalobos, Ryan’s DJ sets aim to expand the horizon of possibility without sacrificing dance music’s core element of sweaty, hedonistic fun. His unique musical vocabulary and tireless dedication insure him a place in the dynasty of forward-thinking techno transplants.

Alongside Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves, Ryan is responsible for the day-to-day running of Visionquest, one of dance music’s most cherished and eclectic imprints. Ryan and his partners in Visionquest have honed a whole new landscape of lush, organic techno and esoteric leftfield electronica. In 2014, Ryan oversaw the construction of Visionquest’s newest venture—their digital arm and sub-label Brachtune. Full of off-kilter, loopy and positively circus vibes, the tracks showcased on Brachtune will remind long-time friends and fans of Ryan’s early morning sets in the notorious “Tesh Club” basement.

In addition to his work with Visionquest, 2014 was Ryan’s most prolific production career yet, with a staggering number of releases on labels such as Darkroom Dubs, Mobilee, and . Highlights include Bricolage, Ryan’s hotly anticipated first EP for Visionquest, especially the labyrinthine, twisted “Club Chimes,” a heady collaboration with long-time friend and fellow Visionquest artist Cesar Merveille. The year also saw Don’t Be Left Out, a mix CD with another fellow traveler Matt Tolfrey, which has been described as “deep, diverse, and exciting all the way through.”
