Emerging from the vibrant East London electronic music scene, as both a producer and DJ, Josh blends the stripped-back, groove-laden sound of Eastern Europe with his own signature style, characterized by moody, ambient textures, organic percussion, and driving, raw basslines.

Recently, Josh has shifted focus towards building his own brand and label "flurt", which explores a more mysterious and experimental edge of Minimal and Microhouse, pushing boundaries while staying rooted in the genre’s core elements.

“Bette’s Bondage” channels the tortured emotions of Of Human Bondage, transformed into a seductive yet unsettling dancefloor journey. “Hekyll & Jyde”, the EP sets the stage with a dark twist on the Jekyll & Hyde legend, while “Ms. Crane” draws inspiration from Hitchcock’s Psycho, weaving chilling vocals into hypnotic rhythms. The remix versions of “Ms. Crane” by Elsoo and “Bette’s Bondage” by Daniel (UK) offer fresh takes on these cinematic sounds, with new dimensions and deep, immersive grooves.

With "Columbiformes EP", Rawax once again makes space for Matthias Schildger to channel his many musical personas into one cohesive yet versatile release. Known under aliases like Star_Dub, Binary Operator, Polyfan Polyphenix, CNTRL, or simply M.S., Schildger uses his decades of experience to deliver five tracks that balance minimal precision with atmospheric playfulness.

"Pigeon Swarm (Vinyl Edit)" sets the tone with stripped-back minimal energy that harks back to the golden days of the genre. Percussive and bouncy, its groove feels both light and infectious, while a deep synth-line quietly fills the background, giving the track the depth it needs to stay locked on the floor. It’s minimal music at its grooviest and most timeless.

"Columbiformes" shifts gears into something darker and heavier. Built around a wobbling synth-line and a massive, almost physical bassline, the track still keeps its stripped-back character, but its energy is undeniable. Playful in details yet menacing in presence, it’s the kind of cut that shackles dancers to the groove without offering much of a way out.

"Breakin’ Doves" opens the B-side with a deep and breakbeat-driven mood, carrying that late-night atmosphere Matthias crafts so well. A subtle sense of melancholy runs beneath the breaks and grooves, creating a track that feels like the soundtrack to a dancefloor lost in time - irresistible, driving, but wrapped in a kind of nocturnal haze.

"Bird Hypnotizm" rounds off the vinyl edition with trippy textures and atmospheric spirals. The track is playful yet entrancing, layering Matthias’ sound design into an environment that feels otherworldly but never loses its dancefloor focus. It’s hypnotic, subtle, and perfectly suited as a closer.

The digital-only track, "A Song For Feral Pigeons," is perhaps the EP’s secret weapon. Lean and minimal, but with a deep groove that keeps listeners moving, it’s a reminder of Matthias’ ability to create understated yet captivating pieces. Its combination of groove and texture makes it a fitting companion to the vinyl cuts and ensures the "Columbiformes EP" ends on a note that is as functional as it is thoughtful.

Altogether, "Columbiformes EP" is Matthias Schildger at his most versatile - merging minimal grooves, breakbeat flourishes, and atmospheric soundscapes into a release that feels both classic and forward-looking. A Motor City, Berlin, London hybrid, Ryan Crosson is a complex artistic creature. Equal parts energetic, down to earth Detroit native and ultra-refined, musical aesthete, Ryan has one ear to the club and one ear far, far beyond. Known the world over for shape shifting, shoulder shaking tracks on groundbreaking labels including M_nus, Supplement Facts, Spectral, Wagon Repair, and his own Visionquest, Ryan’s production and sampling practices depart from the worlds of house or techno by referencing musique concrète, Downtown New York funk, and East African jazz. Born and raised on a steady diet of post-apocalyptic landscapes, dark warehouses, and the sounds of Plastikman, Matthew Dear, Magda, and Villalobos, Ryan’s DJ sets aim to expand the horizon of possibility without sacrificing dance music’s core element of sweaty, hedonistic fun. His unique musical vocabulary and tireless dedication insure him a place in the dynasty of forward-thinking techno transplants.

Alongside Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves, Ryan is responsible for the day-to-day running of Visionquest, one of dance music’s most cherished and eclectic imprints. Ryan and his partners in Visionquest have honed a whole new landscape of lush, organic techno and esoteric leftfield electronica. In 2014, Ryan oversaw the construction of Visionquest’s newest venture—their digital arm and sub-label Brachtune. Full of off-kilter, loopy and positively circus vibes, the tracks showcased on Brachtune will remind long-time friends and fans of Ryan’s early morning sets in the notorious “Tesh Club” basement.

In addition to his work with Visionquest, 2014 was Ryan’s most prolific production career yet, with a staggering number of releases on labels such as Darkroom Dubs, Mobilee, and . Highlights include Bricolage, Ryan’s hotly anticipated first EP for Visionquest, especially the labyrinthine, twisted “Club Chimes,” a heady collaboration with long-time friend and fellow Visionquest artist Cesar Merveille. The year also saw Don’t Be Left Out, a mix CD with another fellow traveler Matt Tolfrey, which has been described as “deep, diverse, and exciting all the way through.”
