I am an alumnus of Berklee College of Music's Music Production and Engineering program and I served as Berklee’s alumni chapter leader for Rhode Island. I have professional certifications in Pro Tools from Avid, and Music Production and Engineering from Berklee. I am a member of Izotope’s Beta Test team, and of the Audio Engineering Society. I have several decades of experience producing and writing music, and I’ve designed and supervised the construction of numerous audio recording and critical listening environments.

James Houlahan's music is an ethereal mix of acoustic roots, alternative folk, and strange flights of sonic alchemy. His original songs combine traditional forms and simple melodies with evocative language and stark imagery. Influenced by a tradition that includes Dylan, Waits, Young, and Cohen.
