Ryan sings in one of Singapore’s premier choral groups, The Vocal Consort, since 2014, under the direction of accomplished choral conductor, Professor Nelson Kwei. Since 2016, he has held the position of Music Librarian and plays a significant role in contributing new repertoires for the choir.


Ryan studies and researches on European choral music, predominantly the Baltic and Nordic countries. He has since then merged this knowledge into his compositions. Since late 2016, he has also been studying music theory and composition analysis under the tutelage of veteran music educator, Lim Geok Choo.

Currently, Ryan works at renowned performing arts centre, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, as a Customer Service Usher. He is also the founder and author of Singapore Choral News.
