This was one that I started several years ago, but I finished tonight.  The project seemed like an appropriate time to let it go as/is.  It was intended for the Orphan Work record I made; the inspiration was reading accounts of anthracite miners.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get it together in a way that made sense with the rest of the songs I was working on.  There's some midi mellotron, violin, guitar and I manipulated cassettes. . .

Disquiet Junto Project 0491: Footsteps Sequencer. The Assignment: Compose a piece of music structured upon a walk through your home.

I considered recordings of the rooms, but my flat is too noisy. I thought about rooms in different chords or scales. Somehow I ended with abstrakt lyrics spoken by ttsmp3.com and some sound snippets. 

I had my doubts halfway through, but now I think it's nice and funny (and yes, not as clever as it may seem that it thinks it is).

Ryan Scott Mattingly's work sets washes of noise alongside sounds from daily life creating melodic songscapes with traditional acoustic instruments (guitar, banjo, mandolin, double bass),  electronics (synthesizer, pedal steel) and homemade instruments, weaving those juxtapositions into grandiose, otherworldly textures.
