Psalm 1

I had the opportunity to share this song at AACF Large Group a few weeks ago.  I wrote it in the midst of the first wave of midterms, actually right during one of my lectures (not paying attention... oops).  While I usually keep songwriting private, the writing process for this was really unique, so here it is. but i'll spare the long story for later/in person.

School and life (and not having a keyboard here in berkeley) means i've had no time to do a real recording of this.  But I just took a quick "voice memo" of it this afternoon (experimenting with my new phone !!). I have a cold right now so it sounds kind of weird, and the sound quality sucks cause i was just in the music building practice rooms but in response to encouragement/orders, here it is for now, until I can find time to make an actual recording haha :)

When the dusk and the dawn blend into one 
When i can't tell the night from the morning sun 
When it feels like the walls are closing in on me-- 
When exhaustion sets in at the start of the day 
When my heart is so tired I can only pray 
Oh God, would you send some mercy down to me?
