Laura Vernice

At a very young age singer/songwriter Laura Vernice (LV) began moving audiences with her bold yet smooth alto voice. Her natural and soulful delivery quickly distinguished her as "the little girl with the big voice." Born outside of Dallas, Texas; LV spent her adolescence performing at church, civic events and soon won the title of Miss Black Pre-Teen Collin County.

 Following an audition in Dallas for "The New Mickey Mouse Club" LV got a chance meeting with Linda Hammond-Godboldo and her son actor Dale Godboldo (Thor, Lakeview Terrace, Wanda at Large). Impressed with LV's powerful voice, the Godboldos began managing LV and added her to the pre-teen hip hop group Xplosion. The hip-hop trio recorded two singles, “Look No Further” & “Countdown Till the Weekend”, which were both written by producer Chris “Deep” Henderson (“Happily Ever After”-Case, “Blame It”-Jamie Foxx). Xplosion traveled & auditioned for record labels Elektra, Arista, Island, RCA, Mercury and many more. 

 The group’s unique sound caught the ear of Edward “Eddie F.” Ferrell who, at the time, was vice president of A&R for LaFace records. Xplosion flew to Atlanta, GA to audition for L. A. Reid and were immediately signed to LaFace/Untouchables Records in 1994. Shortly after the signing "Eddie F." accepted a position at Motown Records and the project and development of Xplosion was shelved. 

 Years later LV moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue her solo career and quickly emerged herself into the Atlanta music scene. LV has recorded demos for producer Chuck Harmony (Chrisette Michele, Rihanna (Russian Roulette), Keri Hilson (Pretty Girl Rock)LV is still stunning audiences with her naturally raspy and soulful voice and has also developed her song writing and live performance skills. Currently LV can be seen performing with the Heather Hayes Experience (Daughter of legendary performer Isaac Hayes) Her Upcoming EP Raw Goods Vol 1: Message in a Bottle is set to be released Summer 2021.
