In literature, a first-person narrator is also referred to as a subjective/unreliable narrator.  While the reader is given a personal account of a story, it can oftentimes leave out key details or distort truth to gain the sympathy of the reader.

What I've learned about myself in the last few years is that I've needed a shift in perspective in my own life.  I've needed other points of view to have a greater (and more accurate) understanding of the truth.  This is why "community" is such an important aspect of the human experience, and a selfish, impulsive, and ego-driven life is so unhealthy.  

Humility is what it takes to yield the first-person perspective for the third-person point of view.  Wisdom, grace, compassion, joy and love is what we receive in return.

First-Person

This was the first song I ever wrote- and recorded for that matter. I wrote the song in seventh grade, crying out to God in a time of brokenness and despair. Now, six years later, this song is my plea to God to lead me in this new phase of life in the path He has set forth before me, choosing  His will above my own.
