This album is an amalgamation of works about my desire to explore places with my camera, in search of a voice of reason and personal reflection. People enjoy travelling to escape from the realities of life and to enjoy the vastness of earth, people also enjoy travelling to see the wonders of the earth and see the beauties of it, be it walking in the forest or strolling by the coast of the sea. I enjoy travelling as it is a way for me to not think about the shackles of society and have a conversation with myself.

Travel Bag: to the middle of nowhere!

"Travel Bag II" is the second chapter of the traveling adventure by the Singaporean artist Ryouko.

This second chapter pulls to a step back and taking inspiration of the experiences whenever I travel.
a personal piece of mine 'yaezaki's lullaby' was a heartfelt piece that sprouted when I was in Japan. I wrote it when I came back and sat on it for a very long time. During those time, a lot went on and more emotions was poured into this track. And, this was the final result, a lullaby for the wandering souls that are trapped away, hidden, behind a facade

'solstice' was a recent track that I made, a track that I slowly piece together but didn't manage to work on it due to the whole lock down and laptop breaking apart. So, until June, I deconstructed it and re did the entire thing to make it something more true to heart. I was meant to represent the early mornings I get up and how during those times, it feels like the sun stood still. And I felt this really portrays this sense of stillness. There was no travelling physically, but a imaginative one.

"Travel Bag I" is the beginning of a new adventure by the Singaporean music producer Ryouko, exploring the sensitive side of nature, while merging with urbanity of our lifestyles.

The opening track of the project "a walk in the forest", is a short but eager track that blends gentle piano progressions, field recordings and an emotionally driven bass, layering the dynamics of the piece nicely.

On "a stroll by the sea", Ronn embraces the sonic complexity of the track, while paying close attention to it's progression, creating an excellent bridge to the next chapter of the overall project.

"Travel Bag II" is the second chapter in the sonic adventure of Singaporean music producer Ryouko.

Carrying on the atmosphere of the first chapter, "solstice" adds a deeper melancholic touch to the adventure, with rich but minimal instrumentation. 

The outro to this chapter is "yaezaki's lullaby", a bright and gentle piece, featuring field-recordings, calm drones and playful piano progressions.

Sorrow has been one of my top 5 influences in my music to date, and for a long time i've been listening to his work, from his "Art is Dead" on Fent Plates to "The Twelve" on Inspected. A lot of tunes from him really inspired what I do today. To remix this, and having the official stems, really help me learn a lot about arrangement and sound textures. 

Huge thank you @deescawa for organising this amazing massive remix compilation.
Thank you @sorrowgarage for the absolute lush and brilliant ambient track, it really inspired most of my ambient sounds today.

onumi and I go quite a while back. Knew her when she was under the alias of 'Myrkogh'. I saw through her amazing journey in the industry and was a fan of her work. When she opened for remixes couple of years ago, not too long after the original was released, I knew I had to remix it. This was supposed to be an official remix, but due to circumstances, it's unofficial now. After some time and after many versions of this, I settled for a blend of my rendition and her distortion bass. I am glad how it came out and hope you guys enjoy it as well.
