Livin' on a Spheroid is a song about living on earth in the presence of divide and control. The key is Eb Phrygian, which was a blast to write a song in. I hope you enjoy!

Well, here's some intentional ugliness in a composition! Thursday, As a Bum is one of my more experimental songs, being in a C whole tone tuning but with chords that don't conform to whole tone. As such the thing is full of diminished chords and flat 6 minors and so sounds dark and aloof. The content of the song is about the constructive daydreaming that one may do if they choose to lounge their Thursday away, or any other day for that matter. Oh, and "Bum"? Yeah, that's what Brando calls himself in On The Waterfront, so all's good.

My Future With You is an A# Locrian tune about those people that make you see a future in and with them. I don't really ever think about genres when I write, so I can't really tell you what this or most of other works are! I'll let the world let me know in due time :-) I hope you enjoy!

Description: Puppy At Play (actually titled: Description: Still Image of a Puppy Playing with a Ball) is a song where I describe an image of a puppy playing with a ball that I found online in poetic detail over soft chords. Livin' Outside is a song about living outside, which is something that I have been doing since July of 2021. I used the all fourths tuning for the song, making the 6 and the 9 flat in certain chords, which gives a rather surreal feel to the track. I hope you enjoy my explorations into music!

Livin' On A Spheroid is a song about some of the things that go into living here on Earth, including differences and similarities between persons and animals, issues in finding trust, and the ultimately unfortunate nature of our woes here in general.

I recorded the parts for this song in my friend Jeremy's backyard musical space. I then mastered and equalized everything in Lauren's apartment. All recording, composition, and production have been done by me, Rythur. I guess I now see just how much effort goes into complete musical tracks! Oh, and I also see how not putting a genre on things during writing is the best way to follow the creativity and whim!

Howdy, there, random and/or non-random people of the internet!

My name is Rythur, which is an amalgam of Ryan and Thurman, some of my actual names. Recently, I finished a PhD in Mathematics with a Concentration in Statistics. I have been many things, including a statistical consulting business owner (Analyt LLC) and professor (USF Tampa). I have always loved music, but grew up so poor and abused that I can't even recall the sound of music in our trailer. I bought my own first instrument at about 18 years old, a crummy drumset that I then used to play in a hardcore band with my best friends within a year of getting it, a band by the name of Deathbed December. I toured briefly with this band, playing many shows more local to the state of Florida.

Following the end of Deathbed in 2005, I composed various electronic music under the unofficial name Constant Neural Firings, which is how my close friend Austin described the sounds I was creating. I also continued a rap project started during Deathbed, where I composed most of the beats, wrote lyrics, and performed in each song. This project contained about the most flamboyant rap beats possible, which I very much enjoyed creating. About five years from Deathbed, I played in a few bands as drummer, namely Particle Motion and Greg and the Gregs. A few years later from this I played in a Nu-Metal garage band by the name of Dirt Circus with a former student of mine.

I dabbled with the guitar over the years, but never actually tried to play. Actual play has come within the past two-to-three years when I finally bought an acoustic guitar, some Yamaha FG-TA business, now my baby. Around the purchase of this guitar, I decided to give singing a real try too, having sung out of key in my car for years without ever actually trying. As for the compositions you can listen to here, those are all as new as the past year-to-two. I began composing such songs February of 2021, finishing the Something Different set of songs in about six weeks. Following Something Different, I have written many songs as part of a collection titled LILAC: Life, Independence, Liberty, and Autonomy in a Car. Beginning this January (2022), I started writing for an album by the name of Twenty. Twenty. Two. I cannot put music down anymore. I'm hooked now.

As for the recordings here, yes, they are super low budget, coming directly from recordings into Android's own Sound Recorder app or done at my friend Jeremy's place, the former being the older posted tracks and the latter being the three complete compositions that I have completed so far. I live out of a 2008 Toyota Yaris right now with a bed in it and all, and love it, but man is recording a pain like this! Even my R24 requires consistent power. I'll go into a real studio when doing so doesn't break my bank, give or take. For now, the wing.

I hope you take the time to listen to my compositions! Music is a passion of mine, one I use to make others happy and entertained, so I hope this gets reflected as you listen. In the words of a Chinese graduate student of mine, "I want to appreciate you!"
