I would like to introduce my son, Joseph, who indulged his dad and did a fabulous job of filling out the end of this short tune with some wonderful guitar soloing on the outro. Even though he has only been playing for a few years, he is miles ahead of where I was at his age as a musician. I couldn't be prouder, and I know that my dad is looking down and smiling, as he played piano and wrote music. I hope this is the first of many!

This song began as an idea Tez came up with on his guitar while on holiday not far from his home in Wales. It had such a solid form, it inspired Mark to write lyrics and come up with vocal melodies within a few days of hearing it for the first time. The two of them have written several songs like this, making them a solid songwriting source for Eclectic Collective. 
  Once the song had a even more solid form, Ken took added his dynamic, bouncy-groove drums to it. As soon as Ken had the drums down, Josh took his turn, adding the fretless bass and solidifying the groove. Now that the basic framework was done, Stephen added his thrilling electric guitar. Last, but certainly not least, JJ added his dancing organ and the really cool, psych synth lead part in the bridge towards the end. Mark also added some awesome backing synth to it, as well, filling out the sound. At the very end of the process, Tez also dropped in the hot intro and outro solos, as well.
  Once we had it all in the can, it was time to turn it over to Tez for his expert production and mix. He came up with the idea of adding reverb to the drums, as well as some other compression tricks, which he employed with subtle style. 
   This, as mentioned, is a great example of what Eclectic Collective can do in house with the composition and songwriting skills of Tez and Mark. The rest of us really had fun working on this one, too, of course. We hope you enjoy listenig to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

Today marks 80 years since Hiroshima, a day that reminds us of the horror and loss caused by the atomic bomb. We want to honor the lives affected and the resilience of those who survived. This is a moment to reflect, remember, and hope that nothing like this ever happens again.
We’re releasing a new version of Atomic Love (here you can find the original version released a year ago: https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/atomic-love), featuring our friend Carl aka The Beautiful Dark @Carl, as a tribute to this day.

Sunshine on my back.

Ruined civilization left one poetry to us.

I was killed by the hand of a hit man 
sent by someone who wanted me to shut up,
two shots rang out in the night, such an awful sound,
were enough to send me laying on the ground.

But I'm not shutting up, thanks to this pre-recorded song,
I keep telling my version of the story, though I'm definitely gone.
Greetings to my family and friends, they must go on without me
but for now I'm able to stay down here in the grave, and yet say hi.

I'm thinking about the story of the so many people 
whose lives they risked to lose, in loving of the truth.
These are real leader.
