Esta semana, el 808 Basic Mix de Radio Castilla-La Mancha nos trae a Ryvage, un músico electrónico de Luxemburgo que se caracteriza por fusionar el synthwave y el ambient techno en un espectáculo hipnótico y multifacético, donde combina sintetizadores, baterías electrónicas, voces y visuales.

Ryvage ha publicado recientemente el EP “Les Nuits I”, que ha contado con las remezclas de artistas como Djedjotronic, Madben y Etienne Jaumet, y que ha sonado en emisoras de radio europeas como BBC Radio 6 Music y 808 Radio. Además, ha compartido escenario con artistas como Rone, Arnaud Rebotini, Vitalic, Throwing Snow y Blanck Mass, y ha actuado en festivales como Les Aralunaires, Murex y Siren’s Call.

Su enfoque narrativo y conceptual de la música también le ha llevado a crear y producir música para instalaciones sonoras y paseos sonoros (Nightsongs - 2022), así como para piezas de radio y teatro.

The sound of each network is heard originating from the router's geographical location, producing clicks whose frequency rises with the signal strength — akin to a layered series of Geiger counters. Routers with particularly strong signals "sing" their network name (SSID), with pitch corresponding to the broadcast channel, and a lower sound denoting the network's security mode.

# STORY
Ryvage means ‘shore’, and has been the moniker for the musical explorations of electronic musician and producer Samuel Reinard since 2017. Driven by his love of contrasts and produced in isolation, Reinard’s synth-driven electro-pop and electronica, and its visual incarnations, are a reflection of his personal obsessions, spanning 80s sci-fi movie soundtracks, industrial electronica, electro-pop in the vein of early The Knife, immersive installation art and echoes of French literature.
The name ryvage (pronounce revaj) says it all, according to Reinard: “My homebase Luxembourg is landlocked. It can be claustrophobic to live in such a small country. To me, making music is like driving to the sea, sitting at the shore and contemplating the horizon. It is a safe and beautiful place where you can be in the moment and let your imagination go wild. I also like the idea of being on the threshold of two worlds or elements. The Pythagorean y, replacing the i in ryvage, reflects this inherent duality of our existence. Ryvage oscillates around contrasts, change and escapism”.
Ryvage has performed live at festivals like Food for Your Senses (LU), Siren’s Call (LU), les Aralunaires (BE) and Zikametz (F) and opened for artists such as Liars (US), Blanck Mass (UK) and Throwing Snow (UK). In January 2018 he released a rework of the track Bubbles by Drops and Points, the electronic project initiated by multi- award-winning composer and jazz vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher (LU), as part of the Drops & Points Reworks EP featuring remixes by artists such as Stimming and Paul Frick. The same year he composed the music for the official trailer of the Luxembourg City Film Festival. His reworks of Ice in my eyes’ Heart and Soul and acclaimed dreampop producer Sun Glitters’ Another day, Another time are due for Autumn 2018.
