Chapeau Music goes from strength to strength here with an amazing produced four-track EP from the up and coming producer hailing from Newcastle: Max Page.

His first ever release kicks off with “Shellin it”, a powerful track dominated by an arpeggiated synth led and a stately kickdrum that sets the tone for what’s to come thanks to well thought out blend vocal sounds with relentless drums throughout. This track gives a proper idea about the Max Page sound right now.
The remix is entrusted to the skilled hands of Oots, a Melbourne-based DJ and Producer that provided a peak time jungle influenced banger remix keeping in mind the soul and the intentions of the Original Mix.
The impressive hardcore aesthetics and sweaty hug energy and overall mood of this remix make it a pure gem to be played out.
“Kudo” has a racy approach on Techno keeping the spirit of the “90s” vibe. Soft rhodes in contrast with pumping synths and short vocal shots. The energetic texture that this track has is driven by few elements well combined on the drumline, all these things make this track a definitely versatile must have inside the DJ bag.
The final track “Poolside” leads us in the happiest part of the ep, a piano house track that perfectly fits the end of this EP. The solid bassline marks the direction to be taken during the dance, the vocal elements help to create an ethereal atmosphere that creates impatient waiting for the various drops. A song that takes us to the poolside, and does it with absolute style.

KETTAMA at The Crave Festival 2024

@hedexuk tore apart the Budapest leg of the Mixmag x Burn Energy Tour 2024.

The first stop on the Burn Energy Tour 2024 put focus on Budapest’s burgeoning underground drum ’n’ bass scene, at the club Arzenal, home of d’n’b promoters Otherside, shining a light on the promoters, broadcasters and artists that are making the city one of the electronic world’s exciting creative locations.

The tour’s focus on drum ’n’ bass in Budapest is a reflection of the city’s new crop of underground creatives. While parties such as Bladerunnaz have helped to solidify d'n'b’s position as the city’s preferred genre, institutions like Lahmacun have helped to carve a new sonic identity for the city — platforming artists such as Shaymi and Bug, and their knack for combining melodic and dark harmonies into a 160 ruckus.

As a flagbearer for the new school jump-up sound, Hedex is already familiar with Hungary's capital — having delighted crowds at parties from Bladerunnaz, DNB Allstars, and more.

"Budapest has a long-running heritage of supporting the scene all over the world," he adds. "Drum 'n' bass runs quite deep there, and I always look forward to coming back."

Burn Energy Tour’s daytime offering in Budapest featured a workshop hosted by Lahmacun Radio alongside Charlie Tee on How to cultivate a non-profit music community, as well as a skills session from Charlie.
