The Butchers were formed in Brattleboro, VT in the fall of 2014, started off as a collaboration between two groups of songwriters, James Ford and Christian Cardiello (The Blind Owl Band) and Bobby & Walker DiTrani (DiTrani Brothers). Throughout the rest of the year they honed in their sound by playing shows in VT, NY, MA, CT, and MD, and after finding their fifth member, Jacob Stern (Crunchy Western Boys) on fiddle, their sound was completed. The Butchers found their name through the tradition of American travelers, collecting the remnants of the past in places which hold ties to the history and the story of our country. The meat of their music is based around old tales of war, depression, love, death, incarceration, murder, strength, humility, and vengeance. Their music is a raw portrayal of American folklife, building energy through gritty teeth and smokey harmonies. They draw their inspiration from the music, land, and people around them, constantly advocating for a life of richer meaning and deeper intent, and the Butchers will always strive for a raw exchange of life and energy with their crowd.

Gabe Schliffer is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist currently living in Eugene, Oregon. His original music spans the gaps between, folk, old-time, bluegrass, and americana. Gabe weaves his acoustic melodies between lyrics of hope and love. Gabe plays cello, fiddle, guitar, tenor banjo, and percussion.

The world is wild, and wondrous! Feel the wind in your hair, the music in the air. Dance and sing! These are a few things I hope my songs might bring. Music to fill your heart and soul, music that feels new but old. I hope to share with you my expression of beauty, harmony, and gratitude.

Ever since his days as the mastermind behind critically-acclaimed avant-boho outfit DUFUS, Seth Faergolzia has blazed colorful trails into modes of expression one couldn't have foreseen even as Dufus were being hailed as "freak folk" innovators.

When Faergolzia first emerged out of lower Manhattan at the turn of the millennium, he cut quite the figure as a trailblazing artist committed to pursuing his vision on the fringe of the fringes, quickly distinguishing himself as a visionary with an entertainer's flair and a penchant for bending minds. Naturally, the surface absurdism of his output drew comparisons to likeminded iconoclasts like Captain Beefheart, Zappa, Ween, and Mr. Bungle. But, Faergolzia has come to represent a genre unto himself, the labyrinthine pathways of his inspiration delighting audiences and collaborators alike.

The new album, "Doubting Won't Do" includes solo acoustic songs and new loop material, both personal and complex in production and includes artwork by friend and collaborator, Adam Green of the Moldy Peaches.

In the new live show, taking the stage as a one-man tornado of sound, Faergolzia will draw from new material, electronic samples, loops, improvisations, and choice selections from the Dufus vault with his backing band, Heck Yup (which includes tuba, electric guitar, percussion, glockenspiel and keyboards).  -- a full and varied cross-section of the matchless oddball muse that has delighted audiences, collaborators, and critics alike for over a decade.

The Blind Owl Band was conceived in the fall of 2010 as 4 friends unknowingly crossed pathways and developed this musical nature. The band is composed by Arthur Buezo (Guitar, Vocals), Christian Cardiello (Bass), Eric Munley (Mandolin, Vocals) and James Ford (Banjo, Vocals). Starting in Feb. of 2011 the Blind Owl Band officially formed, and started shows around their home in Saranac Lake, NY in the heart of the Adirondack Mtns. The band views their traditional arrangement as just the start of the musical concept. "Although we look like a bluegrass band we are not. We are The Blind Owl Band, a musical representation of what sounds float around in our heads. We use the instruments of our ancestors, but play music of our time, influenced by all that has happened in the musical world over the past 23 years. We hope we can achieve a unique personal sound through a raw instrumentation. In a time of music and sound perfection and an expansion of the realm through digital processors, we hope to inspire use of wood and metal. To take a basic approach and expanded it to a sound all its own."
In under two years the band has released their debut album "Rabble Rousing" a 15 track album featuring all original music. Heavy regional touring has also insued all over the North East playing over 180 shows in 9 states this past year, appearing at over 10 festivals and shared the stage with:Trampled By Turtles, Railroad Earth, Hot Day at The Zoo, Floodwood, Jatoba, Driftwood, Cabinet, Lucid, Big Leg Emma, The Bloodroots Barter, Gold Town, Eastbound Jesus, The Mallett Brothers and more! It has been a positive start for the Blind Owl Band. They look forward to expanding new grounds in 2013 both on the surface of the earth, and in the noise in the air!
