Releasing a new EP on Blueprint last month (October) ‘Nothing Can Be Held In Our Hands For Long’. Steve Bailey aka Makaton, has been releasing seminal, experimental and cutting-edge techno music since 1998 with all but three of his releases coming through his own Rodz-Konez operation, a label that’s also released music by Regis, Inigo Kennedy, Female, The 65D Mavericks and Fumiya Tanaka.

Makaton has also released two records on Token and one on RSB.  His exhilarating live set has also seen him support the techno scene across the UK, Europe and in the US. ’4 Point Suspension’ conveys an immediate punch, with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery, while the fractured ‘Six Feet Under In Love’ stutters and sparkles, before the dark and whirling dimensions of ‘Cold Black Heart’. Underground and uncompromising to the core; recalcitrant.

«Way to Absolution”- is not just a compilation of tracks gathered over time. This is an album which, just like a photo album, contains life moments, history, memories and emotional experiences.

Wavestrip often addresses the concept of changes of world’s perception through the depth and spirituality of consciousness. Thus his creations should not only be perceived through the sence of hearing but also through thorough immersion into the the depths of mind.

This release, just like the first one, “Lessons”, tells us a story about a sequence of spiritual experiences and transformations in the main character’s life.

This album contains author’s tragic and dark view of life, where the spiritual mind craving for understanding and unification with the world conflicts with animalistic and lowest desires.

From the first to the last track one can notice an irretrievable nexus leading the character to the end and main thesis of this album - Requiem. To the finis, peace, but in which apprehension of it?

In the prism of the incomer to the redemption of sins and sedation of spirit or to the tragic and sorrowful end because of the impossibility to overcome the carnal, low eagerness?

This is the question that Wavestrip inquires for the listener and just like a painter, he leaves parts of canvas in shade for the observer’s reflection.

hello out there. the great residents of the MUNA have invited me to play music. since the beginning of the pandemic and the suspension of the club and cultural business, MUNA has been publishing regular streams to show you that they are there for you. 

at this point, a big compliment to the guys and girls behind the scenes, who give this project their free time, who put so much effort into all of their streams, be it constant location changes to image and audio. and all in over 100 streams so far. before that, i take off my hat to have such a long breath and such a wide genre of electronic music from house to techno to drum 'n' bass to funk sessions.

i post the link to youtube bellow. and please share the streams of the other djs and acts. the boys and girls from MUNA are really happy when their work is publicized. you can't really give much to the clubs during this time, except maybe the attention the club pays you. by the way, you can also make a donation via paypal on the MUNA website.
