An auricular confession that asks for a little more from the mature listener: to submit themselves; to be satiated with less; for the musical payoffs may be harder to discern but ultimately more gratifying. A merging framework of fact and fantasy, without artistic compromise while remaining oblivious to the surrounding microcosm. A space-time parabola of shapeshifting rhythms and deep electronic atmospheres created using analog waveforms, dense textures, organic dissonances, and abnormal reverberations leading to an expedition without a beginning or end.

The Units are brothers Ashwin and Ashrith who spend their time together visiting the deepest realms of techno huddled over their machines and drawing inspiration from science fiction, spatial geometry, architecture, and nature. Their obsession with electronic sounds goes back to the noise of ’80s video games and early introduction to computer programming. Across their discography, their artistic voice is both consistent and sublime, showcasing a unique perspective and technique. With a distinct sound as producers, Audio Units successfully capture and transfer it into their work as DJs. Their performances irradiate with cosmic warmth made possible by a deft, highly technical mixing style taking their audience on a voyage at light speed as a result of an entire lifetime dedicated to electronic music and a deep love of the machines that make it.

Una parábola de espacio-tiempo de ritmos que cambian de forma y profundas atmósferas electrónicas creadas utilizando formas de onda analógicas, texturas densas, disonancias orgánicas y reverberaciones anormales que conducen a una expedición sin principio ni fin. 

Audio Units son los hermanos Ashwin y Ashrith que pasan su tiempo juntos visitando los reinos más profundos del techno acurrucados sobre sus máquinas y extrayendo inspiración de la ciencia ficción, la geometría espacial, la arquitectura y la naturaleza. 

Su obsesión por los sonidos electrónicos se remonta al ruido de los videojuegos de los años 80 y la introducción temprana a la programación de computadoras. A lo largo de su discografía, su voz artística es consistente y sublime, mostrando una perspectiva y técnica únicas. 

Con un sonido distintivo como productores, Audio Units lo captura y transfiere con éxito a su trabajo como DJ. Sus actuaciones irradian una calidez cósmica que es posible gracias a un estilo de mezcla hábil y altamente técnico que lleva a su audiencia en un viaje a la velocidad de la luz como resultado de toda una vida dedicada a la música electrónica y un profundo amor por las máquinas que la hacen.

A long time coming, we are proud to present @athousanddetails at the helm of this month's ALT CAST.

Gustavo Lima, aka A Thousand Details can be considered possibly as one of the most important rising artist of Portugal ́s techno scene. In the recent years this Porto based producer has established himself at the forefront of Portugal ́s next generation of techno DJs. With releases in different labels, his home is ATD Records, a self-release label with a 100% Made in Portugal concept. Known for fast paced, dark and somewhat distorted rhythms this energetic and charismatic Dj is huge fan of hardware synthesizers, FXs, drum machines, Eurorack and his studio is own sanctuary of creation. Gustavo place emphasis on all crevices of the electronic music spectrum, which is reflected on side projects doing ambient and drone music and the sets he pieces together from his sound collection.

A Thousand Details has fast become recognized as a seasoned digger having the opportunity of playing throughout Portugal and at most of the major clubs in Porto such us GARE, Plano B as well as Neopop festival.
