POPOF regresa A Form con Skylighter EP. Tras el lanzamiento internacional de su enorme EP Dance Escape en Filth On Acid en septiembre, el legendario productor de techno francés y jefe del sello FORM Music, POPOF, regresa a su label con la presentación de su notable nuevo trabajo.

El exquisito paquete de cuatro pistas presenta una increíble clase magistral en dark techno melódico y ​​viene completo con tres remixes diversos de Space 92, Animal & Yo y Andrés Campo.

Comenzando el EP con la inquietante canción principal 'Skylighter', POPOF da a conocer sus intenciones desde el principio con un embriagador corte para la hora punta en pista de baile, rebosante de percusión intrincada, líneas de bajo deformadas y una muestra vocal manipulada. 'US Dance music veteran Chris Staropoli (aka That Kid Chris) unleashes his immense new single 'Early In The Morning’. Aimed squarely at the underground, 'Early In The Morning’ is powered by a potent deep Tech groove, where crisp beats ride under a tapestry of atmospheric pads, menacing synth stabs and teased with a rich soulful vocal hook.

Chris Staropoli has produced music under aliases including Hyperdrive, TKC, Be Fly, Electric Mood and Americano X-Press, but arguably he is best known for his earliest moniker, That Kid Chris. That Kid Chris started his production career in 1992 with ‘Keep On Pressin’, which was picked up by Sasha and Digweed for their seminal release entitled ‘Renaissance: The Mix Collection'. Some of his notable singles to follow include ‘Feel Tha Vibe’ (Manifesto Records), ‘Tonight’ (G2) ‘Come Together’ (Junior Boys Own) along side a massive portfolio of releases on labels including Strictly Rhythm, Henry Street, Yoshitoshi, Nervous, and majors including Arista, Atlantic, Columbia and Jive. Chris has remixed big stars such as Santana, Missy Elliott, Brandy, Chris Brown, Lil Kim, Deborah Cox and Madonna and is also responsible for remixing now classic dance hits such as Danny Tenaglia’s ‘The Space Dance’, De’lacy’s ‘Hideaway’, Alcatraz’ ‘Give Me Luv’ and Bob Sinclair’s ‘Kiss My Eyes’. Chris launched his ‘TKC Music’ label in 2007, joining the dots between tribal, techno and house, which has featured artists such as Pirupa, Leon, Chus & Ceballos, David Penn, John Creamer & Stephane K. As a DJ he has played at some of the worlds most legendary clubs such as Twilo, Sound Factory, Crobar, Pacha, Womb (Tokyo) and Stereo (Montreal), among many, and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon.'

Aguonėlė (Poppy) was a name of a child who lived somewhere in the fields of Lithuania with her grandparents. The fable says Aguonėlė was haunted by a tricky wolf who kidnapped her and carried into the woods. 

We called a few people we love and showed them the sample of the story that later was used to create this EP. All of them agreed to participate in the ways they could. 

This release was created by the artists, who became personal favourites since the time we met. As a channel, party series, podcast, and freshly formed label, we’re glad to gather those who participated, inspired, and helped us in one way or another. 

Inside you’ll find fine breaks and trance, wavy delics and music to dance. From drum n bass to techno, a bit of house and some downtempo. 

Also, as briefly mentioned above, it’s a debut release for our small group of people who think, share and cooperate for the sake of this project being. 

It’s varied but integral.

Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jam’s makeover explores the track’s captivating snappy narrative. The more rhythm focused 'Ipuza' gets a special treatment from Hidden Empire who dial up the aggression of the percussion. Zakari & Blange downplay the track’s initial exotic elements, focusing on the rattling synths and giving it a late-night dancefloor rework.

Following on from the Moment in the Dark EP featuring remixes from Adam Port, Satori and Tibi Dabo, Damian Lazarus celebrates the tenth anniversary of his acclaimed debut album Smoke the Monster Out, with the release of a remastered and expanded edition on his own label Crosstown Rebels.

A decade ago I released my debut solo album on the label Get physical. It was the first time I’d let myself loose in the studio and what came out was a psychedelic collection of extremely strange and bizarre songs. I wanted to make an album full of my inspirations and influences, for exotic after parties, and with no consideration about necessarily getting played in the clubs. It divided opinion at the time and seemed to defy easy categorisation. My own sonic curveball. Here we are ten years on. I’m pleased to report that ‘Smoke The Monster Out’ is still as weird as it ever was. Still genre proof. Still an ‘album’ in an era of tracks and playlists. Now forthcoming on Crosstown Rebels, remastered and with three bonus tracks from the original studio sessions, it’s ready to confuse everyone all over again!

Smoke The Monster Out, originally released in 2009, was the first time Damian had written and produced his own music. Known across the globe for founding the Crosstown Rebels label, his captivating DJ sets and divergent Lazpod podcast series, his debut album is an emotional and humorous expression of his genre-defying imagination.

Following ongoing experimentation with lyric writing and production, Damian invited Arthur Jeffes (son of the Penguin Café Orchestra’s Simon Jeffes), Classic records head honcho Luke Solomon and Mark Ralph (then a member of Filthy Dukes and now a world renowned producer for the likes of Clean Bandit, Years & Years, and Jax Jones) into the studio with him. The result was a unique blend of music that represents Lazarus’ personality and vast experience of the dark and light moments that are captured on the dancefloor. The Guardian went as far as describing the album in 2009 as: “Less troubled and deep than Björk's Debut, it still captures the atmosphere of late-night clubland – the transcendent freedom, the fuzzy unreality, the implicit emptiness, the dysfunction – with a similar potent accuracy. That it does so by fusing Ricardo Villalobos and Robert Wyatt, and slipping in a Scott Walker cover, might explain why it is not being hailed as one of the crossover albums of the year. But it is."

Ten years on the album that draws on inspiration from: techno and house, rock and pop and drum and bass, still remains as challenging and exciting as it was upon its initial release and will capture the attention of both new and old fans alike.

Everything about Smoke The Monster Out feels idiosyncratic, direct and carefully thought-out: both the artwork and the title (which references Alice in Wonderland) evoke Lazarus’s interest in the loss and the return of innocence, the imagery of fairytale fables, and the battle to control and satisfy the emotions without losing sight of humour. Lazarus has a vision, and isn’t afraid to realize it. He continues to live this vision through the music released on his label, the groundbreaking festival he curates Day Zero and the story that unfolds during his DJ sets to audiences around the world every week.

Italian producer and Fine Human Records label head Dino Lenny lands on Crosstown Rebels for the first time this November, bringing his distinct and personal style to the label on the absorbing Doctor, also featuring a remix from Nuiton.

The haunting, emotive vocals of Dino impress throughout on Doctor, chugging groove moves alongside waves of dark electronics and panic-struck, devilish synth. A track crafted to capture the inner workings of Lenny’s mind, transforming them into a hypnotic piece. Nuiton remixes Doctor on the reverse, adding energy to the original with skipping hats and quirky arrangements, building tension that reaches an intense jazzy crescendo of percussion and brass to leave you in a headspin. On the digital release a dub version loses the voice but retains the mysticism. 

With almost 30 years of releasing records under his belt, Dino Lenny has naturally built an incredible back catalogue of remixes and collaborations. He’s worked with some of the biggest names in the business, yet his productions retain a unique style that is all his own. A true lover of the 80s, when he needs that extra touch he will add his vocals to the music, always trying to deliver something original that will stand the test of time, often opting for imperfect unique experience over precise emotionless never-ending loops. Alongside this, he has remixed huge names like Missy Elliott and Timbaland and has collaborated with legends including Madonna, Wu-Tang Clan, Seth Troxler and Dixon. Lenny has been named as “a wizard of electronic music” by the Chemical Brothers, played live with Underworld, released music on the likes of Crosstown Rebels sister label Rebellion, Innervisions, Diynamic, Cocoon & Correspondant, and is currently signed to Ellum. Constantly evolving his sound, Dino is unpredictable & eclectic.

La nueva sensación española del techno Indira Paganotto avanza rápidamente hacia un 2021 meteórico presentando su próximo gran EP, para OFF Recordings.

El EP Jungle de Indira Paganotto, que se lanzará en todo el mundo el 29 de enero a través del aclamado sello berlinés de Andre Crom, quien marca la incursión inaugural de la española en OFF Recordsdings, ya que ofrece un inmenso paquete de tres tracks incendiarios. 

Comenzando EP con el tema principal sin concesiones "Jungle", Indira acelera a fondo desde el principio, fusionando una fuerte combinación de bombos, sintetizadores cargados de glyches y muestras industriales exquisitamente superpuestas de una contundencia y estilo notable.
