When we started The Outsiders in 2016. Noisia’s “Outer Edges” just came out, and the album was a huge source of inspiration for us at the time. Tracks like Sinkhole really opened our eyes and showed us possibilities in production that we’d never thought of before. It was songs like these that inspired us for some of our first releases, so remixing this track feels like a big full circle moment.

We liked how the original track was a perfect fit for the ominous vocal sample and concept. We tried to do the same with this remix, but take it in a different direction. We took a lot of risks in the production, so it feels exciting to put this out!

We’re honoured for this opportunity and we’re truly thankful to have had the chance to get to know Noisia and their team over the past few years 💜

COAL, es una dj y productora proveniente de la costa venezolana, de la ciudad de Maracaibo, estado Zulia. Es aquí, a principios del 2018, donde inicia su travesía por el imaginario sonoro del trópico con fuertes influencias del folklore venezolano y corrientes musicales que nacieron en los barrios de Venezuela.

Los pasajes del Caribe, influencia fundamental al momento de hacer curaduría para cada DJ set, pero también se manifiestan irresistiblemente en sus producciones musicales, con un enfoque que trata de dibujar con sonidos, postales de la cotidianidad venezolana a través de una perspectiva actual, fresca, y con mucho sabor caribeño.
