JD. Reid is a 24 year old Music Producer / DJ from London, UK. Starting off as young producer in the London Grime scene, JD has gone on to tailor his sound to what is now a crossover of genres, taking influence from Hip-Hop, Electronic and Soul/R&B.
He sits alongside the new wave of producers bringing a future sound, with two EP’s Word Gets Around (May 2012) and 88 (Sep 2013) showcasing his versatility and vibe as a producer. Both EP's were well received by listeners, critics and DJ's alike, receiving radio play from DJ's Charlie Sloth (BBC 1xtra) / Shortee Blitz (Kiss FM) / Oneman, Scratcha DVA, Plastician (Rinse FM), Joe Kay (Soulection Radio) & more.
As well as his own projects, JD has contributed beats to releases from the likes of Piff Gang, ItsNate & more, while also putting out his own remixes of tracks from the likes of The Streets, King Louie, Mike Jones & Kanye West. JD. Reid is also currently finishing off a new instrumental EP set to be released in early 2014.
It's with much pleasure that we present 'Mekong' as an exclusive DTW freebie and we are pretty sure you will be hearing this name alot more in 2014.

Here we are with our first release of 2014 by the young and gifted Zikomo. Representing Long Beach, CA this man right here can chop and flip a sample along with some of the best in the world. The fact that Soulection has primarily been about the 'future-sound' we must admit that it feels so good to go right back to the essence and bring back that feel-food soulful/boombap vibe.
