Juan Carlos Álvarez, better known as Perla Negra, is a Dominican DJ and producer whose passion for music ignited at a young age, starting with his love for the guitar. That early connection to music became the foundation of a lifelong journey into sound. With a restless spirit destined to leave his mark on the electronic music scene in the Dominican Republic, Perla Negra began his career as a DJ in 2020. His sets weave deep emotions into a sonic tapestry, guiding audiences through the immersive landscapes of deep tech, minimal, and house music. From the first beat, it was clear he had found his calling.

In 2023, Perla Negra ventured into music production, where his creativity flourished. His tracks have been released on renowned labels and are played by artists worldwide, solidifying his presence in the underground music scene. Beyond his productions, he is the founder of Sizzle, an event organization dedicated to uniting music lovers through unforgettable experiences. Over the years, he has shared the stage with international icons like Pedro Costa, Kevin Deep, and Mickael Espinosa, as well as emerging local talents.

Perla Negra’s dedication and talent reached new heights in 2024 when he performed at the FIFA Women’s World Cup final, held in the Dominican Republic. Through his work, he continues to inspire, connecting deeply with audiences and pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
