Whilst they have called Berlin their home since 2010, our own halls in Canning Town do not feel complete without the presence of @s_ruston. A relationship that began long before we welcomed our first guest; S Ruston has been with us every step of our journey, and now they return to play at RE:SISTANCE 004.

The Bristolian’s natural jungle & drum and bass roots shine through in their music; a sensory overload fully-stocked with rapid, bassy selections and interlaced with old school UK rave. These riotous performances are seen most commonly in the German capital’s sex-positive party scene, with residencies at femme-forward Lecken and clubs Renate and Else, yet they frequently take time to revisit our home in East London, with each occasion cherished.

UNFOLD LX - WET MESS STEAM ROOM MIX

Under the cover of his extra-terrestrial pseudonym, UFO95’s powerful rhythms are the culmination of a life lived around music in many forms. One could say he’s come full circle: as the son of parents who lived above the nightclub they owned and ran when he was younger. Adolescent forays in rock led him to study sound engineering, and eventually right back to the dancefloor, where he now plays exclusively live sets patchworked together from his own productions. From unorthodox beginnings, Killian Vaissade has more than grown into his role. UFO95 is his pandemic-era brainchild, a project that’s taken off at breakneck speed, collaborative works with Mama Told Ya label-boss Anetha, an appearance on Amniote Editions x Mala Junta’s VA compilation and the launch of his very own ARCHIVE imprint (June 2023) just a few of the feats he’s managed to pull off in his short career. Expect more to come in the form of driving, adamantine beats. Bassiani Podcast 187 is every bit the furious, impassioned sound his fans have come to expect, an hour of chaotic and thrilling techno that will have you on the edge of your seat.

My latest set playing at Revier Südost, the new Griessmuehle in Berlin for Ellen Allien's night We Are Not Alone!

Revier Südost (RSO), Berlin - We Are Not Alone Set - 10.10.20

This mix was made especially for my technodrifters far & wide in time for the Winter Solstice and the Grand Conjunct. The idea was to press play at 18:30 & drift, with the ending being aligned with the Saturn & Jupiter Conjunction at 19:37 CET. The tempo is 128bpm throughout - the optimum drifting tempo. There are added vocals throughout the mix with particular meaning & attached to specific memories of the ghosts of our ravey pasts. 

The call to arms from Maria Scaroni, technodrift creator:

'Technodrifters it’s the darkest time of year. If you have a bit of a pagan, either undercover or outed spiritual practice, you know these days are for planting intentional seeds for the returning sun. We will dance away assessing 2020 and dance intentions and wishes towards 2021. Sophie conjured a mix just for this purpose, so there is much power given already to the collective mind.

This drift is dedicated to Mariana, who vanished at the end of summer leaving many longing to have one last dance with her. A sunshine. May this dance serve your grieving in tender recognition.'
