Manuel Espinás completed his musical education in his native city: La Habana, concluding it at the Instituto Superior de Arte.
Naturalized as Mexican citizen in 2004, he started a strong activity in that country since 1992, as concert performer and lecturer in almost every international guitar festival that takes place in the Mexican Republic. His art has also been admired in different countries such as Spain, Italy, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Uruguay, USA and Cuba.
His professional activity has benefited in several times by the CONACULTA – FONCA support, especially during the program editions 2005 and 2007, “Intérpretes”, and during the 2009 edition “Fomento a Proyectos y Conversaciones Culturales”; and in Puebla by the “Foescap” in 2003, “IMACP” in 2019 and “PECDAP” during the editions of 2012 and 2020. In 2018, he obtained from “Ibermúsicas” a mobility support for a concert tour across South America. Thanks to those supports, many cultural projects in favor of education and artistic promotion were possible. The recordings of Manuel Espinás are available in almost every digital platform.
Currently, master Manuel Espinás is a full-time teacher at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP). He is an artist sponsored by D’Addario Strings.
