“Tryambakan” refers to the Three eyes of Lord Shiva, referring to God as Omniscient (Brahma), Omnipresent (Vishnu) and Omnipotent (Shiva). “Yamahe” means “we sing Thy praise”. 

“Sugandhim” refers to His fragrance of knowledge, presence and strength. “Pusti Vardhanam” as representing Brahma, the Omniscient Presence sustainer of all life. 

“Urva Rukamiva” refers to the powerful and all-pervading suffering quality of ignorance that  is “Bandhanan”, referring to “bounding us down. 

“Mrtyor Muksheeya” refer to “take us from death to the final truth”. “Ma-Amritat” refers to “with your holy nectar”.
