Don Diablo ft. A R I Z O N A - Take Her Place

It's been about 3 years since my first EP. I've learnt a lot about life and music since then and I think it is time to release a second project which I've been working extremely hard towards finishing. It's an EP which is a sonic representation of some pretty dark seasons of life I've been going through, which completely destroyed the joy which I knew as a child. Although difficult, I have recently found a very special light within myself and the world around me which this EP travels towards and represents. I put all of this loss and discovery into sound and am very proud to announce my second EP entitled 'Blinded By Darkness'. 

The majority of this project is derived from Iphone microphone piano recordings. It was interesting and challenging to turn the somewhat less than stellar quality recordings into a usable piece of audio.

This song is from a new EP I'll be releasing in the coming months. I took a very different songwriting approach this time around and limited myself to only guitar and synthesizer (with one exception on one track). These songs are slow, simple and unassuming. I wrote them all very quickly after getting back from my last house show tour in a somewhat unprecedented burst of creativity and excitement. I'm very happy with how everything turned out.

I have been getting so many letters from fans that literally feel lost in this world. When they tell me my music gives them comfort and shines a light in a dark tunnel inside their head it literally makes everything I do worth while. Sometimes it feels like the outside world wants you to act a certain way, look a certain way and this can put a lot of pressure on your shoulders. Others may appear to be better looking and more successful, which can create dark clouds in your head. This single is an anthem for those who are searching for their identity and the statement is simple: everybody's somebody, nobody's nobody. Life is not about what others expect you to be, or what you feel you might never achieve, it's about accepting who YOU truly are and being proud of your own personal achievements.
