This Bitch Is Alive is the creation of New York duo The Carry Nation - a pairing of Nita Aviance and Will Automagic. Will has contributed to music on labels like King St, Classic, Buzzin Fly and Nervous. Nita is a long-standing member of the legendary House Of Aviance, both have been working the best underground dance floors in NYC for over a decade and…Featured vocalist Viva Ruiz moonlights as the voice of DFA's The Crystal Ark and has a long history in New York's inhabiting the place where clubs and art meet. 

This Bitch Is Alive is a Frankenstein's Monster of a track combining elements of house, techno, punk and electronica to devastating effect - this is a record with it's head and heart in the centre of the dance floor and the exceptional remixes 

Batty Bass label-mate Bubba takes his 808 downtown and serves a brilliant slab of frantic subterranean basement acid… you can almost smell the smoke machine on this one. 

Gavin Russom (The Crystal Ark/DFA) has laid down 11 minutes of dance floor magic that really has to be heard to be believed - starting off with Ron Hardy's morning alarm clock it tumbles into an epic genre-defying voyage deploying a hefty kick drum and a lot of imagination along the way. 

Australian duo Sveta & Tokoloshe take you deeper with their mix, diving into the depths of a murky bass throb that develops into an atmospheric acid thumper laced with piano and danger 

And finally New York's Johnny Dynell gives you big room drama, lovingly pouring his house heritage into an epic fix of rolling baselines, synth stabs and pianos.

'Calling Me Home' is a hauntingly melodic tune which sets the tone for their new album perfectly.  Featuring vocals from D.V. and that trademark thundering bass the Freestylers do so well. This one is BIG.

Freestylers present new single “The Coming Storm” on Rub A Duck 

The Freestylers haven’t slowed down since their first releases on the Rub A Duck imprint. Their singles “Frozen”, recorded with Joshua Steele a.k.a. Flux Pavillion and “Over You”, which featured Ami Carmine, all reaped high acclaim and now the original dons of breakbeat are back with a vengeance and about to release the first single “The Coming Storm” from their forthcoming album about to drop this summer.  

After a 15-year career the Freestylers have covered a full 360 degrees in the bass music genre, having played all the biggest festivals and most talked about nightclubs around the world, even the quintessentially British music show, Top of The Pops. With their first four artist albums "We Rock Hard", "Pressure Point", “Raw as F**k” and “Adventures in Freestyle” notched tightly to their belt, the duo was voted Best Band by Music Magazine, toured with Lenny Kravitz on his American Woman tour, rocked a crowd of 30,000 at Glastonbury Festival 1999, performed at MTV’s Times Square Millenium Party and played Big Day Out 2005 - it is clear that these guys have had one big adventure so far.

Through early tracks like “B-Boy Stance”, “Ruffneck” and “Warning”, their music progressed to seminal tunes like “Punks”, “Boom Blast”, “Fasten Your Seat-Belts”, “Painkiller” and more recently “Cracks”. In addition to their status as underground heroes, they have gained commercial success with their huge global hit “Push Up” and have had their music featured in TV and film, including the hugely successful comedy film Zoolander. 

And now, after two years in the studio, it’s fair to say Matt Cantor and Aston Harvey are about to launch a veritable assault on the music scene with the single release of their new album’s title track “The Coming Storm”. "The Coming Storm" takes the fusion of dub and jungle to another level with its warrior charged sensibility. Being a collaboration with Stereo:Type and featuring the moody and melodic vocals of Takura (of Flashing Lights/Chase and Status fame) the track has all the hallmarks of a classic Freestylers sound, but ramped up for the new era, including massive remixes by Ed Solo and Sound Avtar. It has already received support from El Hornet, Bassnectar, Eddy Temple Morris, Mista Jam and Flux Pavillion. Prepare yourself for the coming storm!
