The intersection of jazz and production-heavy music is a transient and highly-viscous landscape of emerging artists and novel compositions, and Iszlai is near the absolute center of that paradigm; after establishing his signature blend of percussive shuffles, broken melodies, and lacerated audio artifacts, he's further refined the impact of those choice assets, culminating in the All Into Now LP.

It's hard to understate Iszlai's control of rhythm, and his ability to diffuse steady and broken beat arrangements into one another is a pleasant shock to the senses. Those glitched-out percussive underbellies form a bedrock for the lush jazz chords and resampled cuts of conventional instruments and palatable synthesis featured across the album, creating a compositional groundswell song to song. Each passing phrase is the next step in the fragmented narrative of his songwriting, fleshing out the story in the manner of a bursting cocoon. By the time the needle reaches the end of the record, it's akin to the end of a trance, and the lingering effects of Iszlai's All Into Now will keep you returning time and time again to his personal touch of strange flavors in sound.

I spent a good deal of time on this one. Writing it while high, sounddesigning while going through a panic episode, added plugins later, about 6 versions of this tune that all sound different. Was supposed to be a ambient thing but.....no. And finally mixing down while sober and happy.

Drumming and music production have always lived in separate worlds of Morillo’s musical journey. Taking a big step in tethering the two together, Morillo returns to Gravitas Recordings with his latest album, Shades of Green. During quarantine, Morillo prioritized the ability to properly record and incorporate acoustic drums into his production from his Los Angeles studio. From there, he dedicated his energy into tuning and refurbishing his drum kit, acquiring necessary recording gear, and learning engineering skills to translate it into production. The result was a fresh aesthetic diverging from strictly electronic sounds, empowering a live and more human aspect to his music. Shades of Green is a hypnotic, handmade small-batch record that dives deep into organic soundscapes to move listeners spiritually and physically.



“Badmon Sound” plunges into the depths of wicked acoustic territories as sirens apprise their warning. Featuring Evan Hatfield on Sitar, the two whisper deep “Secrets” into the cosmos before Meg Gardner closes the tune with original spoken word poetry. In collaboration with Canadian bass producer PRZM, “Champion Sound” is a lush excursion through funky reggae territories. Los Angeles singer Talia Bentson soon whisks listeners to an ethereal, yet dark “Dreamland.” Ticking clocks precede a royal dubby coronation in “King of Kings.” Title track “Shades of Green'' inhabits a meditative jungle, isolated from the busy metropolis. Featuring Los Angeles producer DanniG, “One$$” delivers fresh soundscapes between dominant bass waves and electrifying drum patterns. Heartfelt and zestful energy in “Rain and Mist” hydrates nature’s spirits, concluding the vibrant album.

Saeiound and @therust have combined their resources to present a cinematic recap of the most devastating year of most of our lives in order to raise funds for those most displaced by the pandemic. 

All proceeds go to The Global Foodbanking Network which specializes in aiding local foodbanks around the world. We chose this because this pandemic isn't a local issue, and we wanted to help spread your contributions around the world. Every $1 generated will provide roughly 15 meals!
